Took two tries to find this place, but worth the effort. Best to take a taxi. Lobster tails, shrimp, fish and chowders. Has solved my husband's need for a lobster fix. Fun nautical Carribbean motif. Tricky tiny spiral staircase up into restaurant from fish shop below adds to the delight of finding a secret hideaway. Have been twice already.

Absolutely amazing restaurant. High quality seafood and like nothing else I have found in Colombia much less the States. The prices are extremely reasonable, and by US standards an unbelievable bargain. Add that to the service and a cool atmosphere and you have no reason to miss this place next time you are in Medellin. It is located in an extremely safe neighborhood (for the skittish foreign traveler), and the service is excellent.

This is as authentic as you can get! To get there, get off at the Ayura metro station, and catch an easy $2 taxi ride to the address. It takes about 3 minutes. Look for a sign that read Buen y Mar.

Mostly locals come from all over the valley to taste the best seafood in Medellin..

The cazuela is out of this world, and tastes better with some of their homemade hot sauce.. The side salad is fresh w/ a delicious avocado sauce. To drink, we got their fresh coconut lemonade, just amazing. They've also got of beer, and other juices.

Lastly, the owner Juan and his son David have a true pride of ownership and it shows through the pride taken by the awesome team of ladies who cook.

Open only 12 noon - 4pm

After reading about this place in Medellin Living and here on TripAdvisor, my husband and I decided to make the trip to Itagui to check it out. We had a taxi drop us off at the Plaza Mayorista and got a little lost walking down a couple of questionable streets so just make sure you take the right street there!

Anyways, once we found the place, we were really impressed. It is above a seafood market and the feeling inside is great! Seashell napkin holders, fish tanks, sea life paintings on the walls. My husband ordered the filete de tuna teriyaki and I of course tried the famous cazuela de mariscos. Everything was delicious and really filling as both meals also came with a patacon, side of rice, and salad. The prices are a little high for Medellin (20,000 CP for media porcion of the cazuela and 30,000 CP for the tuna) but not for what you'd pay for a good seafood meal back in the US.

Our service was actually quite fast (we got our meal in about 10 minutes or less) and our waitress was very sweet and attentive. Great find!!!

Food is crazy good, home made plates from very fresh fish and seafood. You have to try la cazuela de mariscos, terrific taste. Interior design is very interesting too. We feel well. Warm staff and the owners are very welcoming. A MUST in town. Johan From France.
