Yes, it is a stone bridge, but the best is arrive to it.
Is really nice let behind you the crowded and modern shaoxing streets and walk into the old China ambience.
It is really easy imagine how the people live in the past. Very very relaxing walk beside the channel, no shops, no bars, just quiet people making his dayly tasks.

The nicest part of Shaoxing, charming, rather quiet, with interesting old Chinese architecture, local people washing clothes in the river on the canals, loads of local snack stalls and shops around.

Yes, a bridge is just a bridge. When you think about any of the most 'beautiful' bridges in the world are just means to get from one side to another whether it's Brooklyn or San Francisco or good ole Shaoxing. This bridge is minuscule for sure, but it's all about the environment - it's surroundings are the sort of thing Westerners dream of when they imagine what they think 'real' China is going to be like and usually end up disappointed by the reality. Here in an increasingly sidelined quarter of the city you can experience that Western fantasy, washerwomen and artisans and all. This sort of thing will eventually disappear from the behemoth that is modern China and we should cherish it.

Yes, as people say "it's just a bridge like many others in China", and that is truth. But, this bridge is in amazing old part of Shaoxing, that is (unlike others) not commercialised and so peaceful. I often go there for a walk, to escape from crowd and noise. It's like a time machine. No tourist shops, no nothing, just a beautiful temple nearby.
Also, from this place you can see what is Shaoxing all about, mix of modern and traditional, because you can see Shimao tower behind it. Really nice place if you want to have a relaxing walk, for tourist buzz, you must go elsewhere

Interesting that is is up for review. It is a stone bridge. Just that. If you are in the neighborhood, then go see it but it is not worth an extra trip just to see this type of bridge which you can find in many places in China.
