The hotel is a bit far from the tourist spots but that is inevitable because most tourist spots are in the old city area. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I would like to mention the lobby staff Augus who was very helpful to recommend us where to go within our very limited time in Suzhou. We had a great time visiting the old city area as suggested by him.
Hotel room is reasonably big (though we booked an executive room), clean and the bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is also good with a wide variety of choices. But we were disappointed by the executive lounge because we went there during the odd hours and there was only juice/soft drink to serve us, not even a single piece of cookie! When we checked out, we raised this issue to the staff and she apologised and added that we could have told the staffs that we wanted some cookies. Come on, as a 5-star chain hotel, should a guest on executive floor need to mention that he/she would like to have some cookies/snacks? We have been to many 5-star hotels and stayed at different executive lounges before. Even at odd hours, they always have snacks such as cookies, small cut sandwiches, fruits available for their guests. Just cannot understand why Suzhou Marriott Hotel is not considerate enough? For this reason, I rate their "service" only 3-star.More
