If anyone ever went to Butlins in the 1960's, that's the size of the chalet rooms' only there are 5 beds crammed in. We stayed for 3 nights, notified reception every day that there was no hot water for a shower and didn't even get an apology, never mind any offer of compensation. Very poor.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. They were so good that when we had a complete failure at the next destination in our trip, we returned to PanAmericana Arica for an extra night.

The hotel offers excellent location, good attention, polite service, nice and clean room with air conditioning.
There was a problem with payment, though; they did not accept dollar bills that had a minuscule damage on them, and did not have change for $100.

The hotel is falling apart. The rooms are rusty (not a metaphor), tired, dirty, but appalling facilities, ugly bedding, unpainted walls, old systems... Truly truly ugly. Rooms are terrible in a nutshell.
The rest of the hotel is not bad. Location is good, you can hear the waves at night, the pools are nice, breakfast is served in a nice location overlooking the ocean. One problem with the pools is that parents let their children treat like a kindergarden facility with their children screaming their heads out without any restraints from families or staff. I had to leave due to the noise. Unusual for me, but it was seriously loud.
WiFi quality was poor, staff were slow (a common thing in Chile, old fashioned systems die hard) but pleasant (not the norm in Chile), and there is plenty of free parking (you need a car in Arica).
This review isn't complimentary BUT this is the best Arica has to offer after looking around in terms of accommodation so you may be stuck with this property.
One word of advice to management: Please fix the rooms, you cannot have rusty appliances, broken curtains, peeled walls, dirty linen. Please, this isn't that hard.
I cannot not recommend it because the other options seemed much worse in Arica

The hotel is quite worn and rooms quite basic. The hotel is situated right in front of the sea so you can hear the waves while you sleep (which is charming). The hotel is very basic and restaurant/breakfast quite average. Staff is helpful but not overly friendly. You should not check into this hotel and wait for a 'modern' hotel. It is scruiffy, worn and basic but it is ok.
