This upmarket restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel and my wife and I had already decided we were going to eat here based on TA reviews. It also let us briefly get back to our western dietary ways, Steak calling!
We walked up and tried to look at the menu before going on. Here we were met with an extremely pushy individual who would not leave us alone. He loudly told us ‘I recommend the fish’. My wife is allergic to fish - what a great recommendation that was ! Had we not already decided on eating here we would have walked out at once. Nonetheless a 5 star rating is reduced solely due to this awful start.
Once inside though matters changed immediately. This is clearly an upmarket establishment and the service was lovely, in particular from a young girl whose name I sadly forgot. Her English was excellent even though she said she only started learning 6 months previously.
Good portions of soup followed by rib eye steak and chips - at last. We also had a glass of wine each in the package.
The bill was US $ 71 - our most expensive meal to date. The tab was justified however. Shame about the start though.
