We only just arrived but I had to write my review now as we are so impressed!

The whole resort is beautiful, especially the pool and our room.

Our driver was friendly and got us here easily, only 15mins from Siem Reap airport.

The staff on arrival were lovely and so efficient. A delicious welcome drink and ice cold Jasmine scented towel were just what we needed, swiftly followed by vouchers for 1 free cocktail per night each and a thorough tour of our room.

In the room itself- free minibar includes beer and lipton ice tea as well as a plate of pineapple. Tea/coffee free as usual.
The toilet, sink, shower and bathtub are all separated and spacious. The bath is enormous so it takes a while to fill up but so worth it for a luxurious soak!

The restaurant is upstairs with a lovely open air view of the water and the road, or the pool depending on where you sit.

The food is reasonable, just a little less than you might pay in the UK but it was perfect and more than enough to eat. We had our free cocktail, spring rolls to share and one main dish each (rice included) which came to a total $29, (just over £20).
We didn't look at dessert as there is a supermarket 2mins walk away where you can buy a single portion ice cream tub for $1.25.

Happy hour on soft drinks and beer is 3-7pm daily, cocktails beyond your free one are around $5 each and pretty good.

This hotel is a little pricier than some others but it's definitely great value for money. Elsewhere on our trip we spent less on the room but by the time you add on transport for being further out, and all your drinks and food that aren't included, you're not saving anything and staying in a less luxurious surroundings. So splash out here. I got a good deal on hotels.com at £230 for three nights for a queen bedroom, it was cheaper than a twin room if you don't mind sharing the bed. The room also has a large sofa seat if you are determined not to share!

We stayed in La Riviere for three nights in a pool view suite. Extremely polite and attentive staff very excellent from start to finish. They helped us book tours and generally accommodated us very well.

We booked for cocktails from 4-7 each evening and took full advantage of the delicious selection on the terrace with a view of the river.

The food was very nice with a good selection of local and Western options for breakfast. The location is great for getting to nice local restaurants also.

The pool was perfect for swimming and relaxing, and the setting under a large tree with sicadas singing their hearts out almost makes you feel you are in the jungle...in a good way.

Room quality was high with a comfortable bed. Good shower and bath with decent tv offering if you want that.

Overall great stay and highly recommended.

We stayed at the La Riviere for 6 nights from 9 to 14th March. The resort is centrally located a few minutes walk from Pub Street that offers a variety of supermarkets, restaurants and night life. Our villa suite pool view was super spacious and very comfortable. Thrown in with the deal were daily cocktails x 2, cooked breakfast, free minibar (2 beers, cola, iced tea & bottled water) airport transfers and three pieces of clothing laundered daily. We were surprised how quiet the room was being located on a busy road. Staff are very pleasant and attentive. The only downside was the WiFi requiring multiple logins throughout the day, however, the facility overall still deserved a 5 star rating.

We had villa 001 and it was simply beautiful. The room was huge, there was very little road noise and the bed super comfortable.

The staff just added to our delight -especially the bar staff who were always waiting to greet us as we walked through the reception.

With all the additional promotions ie free airport transfer/free minibar/free cocktails the room price was very reasonable plus the buy one get one free during happy hour.

We never had a problem getting a tuk tuk from right outside the door and felt very safe walking around at night.

Breakfast was delicious and served from 6.30 til 10.30 - we even managed to go visit Ta Prohm and get back in time before breakfast finished.

All in all a fantastic base in Siem Reap
