Gorgeous, quiet, serene, boutique hotel, style reminiscent of French Colonial and Art Deco, though it was built only ten years ago. We just had two nights, and wished we could stay for a week. They'll pick you up at the airport in a vintage sedan. Don't panic over the route to the hotel - the final couple of streets are pretty third-world, but the hotel itself is lovely and the area is actually quite safe. The lobby is filled with comfortable chairs and couches and little tables, plus a bar where you'll be offered a free welcome drink. There's a winding staircase up to a balcony with small dining tables for the fabulous food served by their restaurant. Breakfast is included in the room price (and really good!); dinner is somewhat expensive, but worth it, especially if you're there on a Tuesday night, when they have a dinner show of traditional Cambodian folk dancers. All of the staff is warmly welcoming, well-trained, and eager to please. The grounds are beautiful and include a salt-water pool that is candlelit at night. We had a bungalow suite (a bit more expensive than their standard room, but first floor, which was important to us as our mobility is somewhat limited.) It was lovely! Decent size living room with couch, coffee table, armchair and a free minibar filled with water, soft drinks, and their national beer; king size bed in the bedroom, along with a small walk-in closet, good size shower, vanity sink, soaking tub - and even a private steam room! (Though I can't imagine wanting to take a steam bath in the hot, humid climate.) Nice bathroom amenities. Small, very private outdoor area with a couple of chairs and an outdoor shower in addition to the one by the bedroom. The hotel also has a spa, which I didn't have a chance to try, a comfortable outdoor smoking lounge (no smoking anywhere else on the property), and a small gift shop. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough! Our stay was a truly wonderful experience!
