I spent 3 nights at the Prince D'Angkor with my elderly English Aunt & Uncle in March 2011.

First impressions weren't favourable as the car I'd booked was not at the airp[ort to meet us - but not a big deal as a taxi was just USD7.

My Aunt & Uncle were highly impressed with the foyer when we first arrived, but as I have lived in Asia for several years I'd seen many such foyers, and in my view it was starting to look just a little frayed around the edges (cushions / carpets needing replacement, and woodwork needing a spruce up.

Having put my initial impressions to one side we were served quickly and politely (they had lost our booking but there was no problem honouring the deal we'd agreed via email). We found our rooms, and again my initial impression was not great: everything looked a bit tired, sheets / towels were past their best, the bed was its usual Cambodian rock hard self and the view was over an alleyway onto tatty shops. They don't have any non smoking rooms so it smelled musty. The bathroom was fine and the hotel was nice and quiet so slept well every night.

The next day the buffet breakfast was fine but not wonderful, we went and spent a day out and returned in the afternoon for a swim & relax. The hotel's location is one of the best in town: you can walk just about everywhere. The pool area is definitely the best part of this hotel - plenty of space, comfy loungers, plenty of shady and sunny spots, lovely stone carvings and a great fully tiled pool.

We paid USD65 per night including taxes, breakfast and wifi, so I felt this was good value - had we been charged much more I would have left unhappy but as it was I left satisfied.

Would I return ? Probably not - with soooo many new hotels in town I'd shop around, spent a little more and find somewhere nicer.

ery nice hotel, near to the Old Market, 5-10 minutes walking. The receptionist was very nice to change the room for us for a better view. A nice swiming pool in the back of the hotel with trees around. Breakfast was good with multiple choices.

The English Speaking tour guide and driver, Mr. Narin, is a very kind person, who brought us a lot of fun and information, as well as fresh fruit everyday. He was so proactive and always anticipated our needs before we asked. We felt so lucky to have him with us during our trip to Siem Reap.

Staff was very friendly, and I loved the orange juice we got as our welcome drink. The Siem Reap International Airport was very near, and Angkor Wat /Angkor Tom was only 10-20min away.
The massage treatment was superb and relaxing. The atmosphere of the hotel was tropical and fun-- not too formal but not too casual.
Although my room was clean, we could hear noise coming from the other rooms and the hallway pretty clearly. A little bit noisy in our room.... nevertheless we enjoyed our visit to Prince D'Angkor Hotel & Spa and Siem Reap very much.

Room Tip: Get a room that is on the 4th floor.

This hotel is right in the centre of Siem Reap, yet in a quiet area. It is located about 5 mins walk from several restaurants and also near the night market.
It has a very nice pool area. Our room was a reasonable size with a balcony that overlooked the pool. Not much drawer space and the room could have been cleaner but beds were spotless.
Several Siem Reap hotels are on the road to the airport which means you have to get a tuk tuk if you want to go anywhere.
This hotel is perfect if you are only stay 1 or 2 nights.
