“Oasis of calm”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

We stayed in the Borei Angkor Resort & Spa when we visited Siem Reap, the hotel is really well located for getting to the Temples. Its a lovely hotel very calm and relaxing. The morning breakfast buffet was varied and of good quality ...and it set us up for the day. The room was clean and comfortable.. we were in one which overlooked the pool area. The pool area itself is lovely, there are ample sunloungers and the garden area is beautiful.. a real oasis of calm in a busy place. We found the pool well maintained and had no concerns about having a cooling dip!!.We hired a tuk tuk most days to go to the Temples as we liked the feeling of actually being in Cambodia rather than on a aircon bus!! the sights and sounds are wonderful!! We would stay at the Borei Angkor Resort & Spa again.. if we are lucky enough to go back to Siem Reap!!

Room Tip: Pool view room was quiet and relaxing

I travel a ton for work and play and recently spent 4 days solo at Borei Angkor. My first hotel choice was booked, but thank goodness. The service here was magnificent -- like having my own personal concierge. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I stayed in 3 other hotels in Cambodia, including the Intercontinental in PP, and nothing compared.

I was given a room on the top floor with a bath/shower on the balcony. Magnificent! And the food! And the spa! No complaints here and believe me, I am particular about hotels.

Room Tip: Get a room on the top floor if you can. They have large terraces with outdoor bath/showers!

From the moment that we arrived at the Borei Angkor Resort for our 8 day stay we were met with courtesy and kindness. Our extended stay package booked through the hotel website included many excellent features - airport transfers, daily buffett breakfast, daily laundry, unlimited internet access and connectivity, one premier set dinner and a complimentary last night.

All email contact with the hotel prior to our arrival had been handled efficiently with prompt replies.

We were upgraded to a suite on presentation of a voucher from TripAdvisor and were grateful to Mr Sokhemra Khoun for making these arrangements. With so much space in the room who could not look forward to an enjoyable stay. The spa bath certainly assisted in relazing tired legs after a days sightseeing.

Ms Bunna Phoeun was most helpful with her suggestions and organising temple tours to meet our needs and was of significant assistance together with Mr. Vichheka Moth in resolving an issue that arose during our stay.

Daily breakfasts were a delight with a wonderful selection available to suit all tastes.

The tuk tuk drivers associated with the hotel in most cases had good English and with their vehicles were a very relaxing way to enjoy Siem Reap and the temples.

When we left the hotel feeling very relaxed and indulged,we were very touched by the farewell given to us by so many staff that we had related to during our stay. We would not hesitate to return to the hotel and will recommend it to our friends.

I stayed at the hotel for several days and would not hestitate to return.
While a few (minor) things were not yet commensurate to standards usually prevailing in international 5-star hotels, the friendliness and the goodwill of the staff; from Senior Manager to Bell-Boy, was just overwhelming. Bedding is excellent, premises are spotlessly clean, the swimming pool is a dream, the food and beverages; like the fresh fruit juce bar, food at the terrace, and the breakfast buffet; were of stunning quality. Guests are pampered like kings, and if you treat the people with respect it will be returned twofold to you. A special thanks goes to Sokhemra Khoun, the Assistant Resident Host Manager to whom i wish to designate the mention extra-ordinarily professional, deserving of praise. Thanks folk's. Paul In Brussels.

Room Tip: I stayed in a garden villa, with a jacuzzi and a sauna in my room. No safe in the room. It was very...

Very nice hotel situated in a great little town. We arrived early in the morning and were met at the airport by the hotel. It is about a 15 minute ride to the hotel and upon arrival we were immediately greeted by the hotel staff. Even though it was only 08:30 in the morning the staff did everything they could to get us in our room early and after a nice breakfast we were in our room by 10:00.The room was very spacious with a king size bed, sitting area, flat screen with lots of channels, balcony, and large bathroom. There was a huge claw foot bathtub that was filled and topped with lotus petals!

The breakfast buffet was very good and I can't imagine that even picky eaters couldn't find something to eat. Made to order eggs, made to order crepes, salads, breads/muffins, Asian cuisine, you name it they have it. We did not have any other meals at the hotel but the menu looked very good. Very reasonable drink and mini bar prices.

The hotel arranged for our tour the day of our arrival. We had a car and tour guide and it was well worth it. The guide was great at gauging us and how much "knowledge" to impart and he knew of all the great spots to get amazing photos. It was very hot while we were there so it was very nice to be greeted by the driver with a cold water and washcloth. On our first day of touring we did the main Angkor complex and common temples. On our second day we went out to Bantey Srey and Beng Melea which is outside of the city of Siem Reap. You have to pay more money but it is definitely worth it. Beng Mealea is a temple that has only recently been opened. It has the jungle 'lost temple' feel and has amazing trees growing throughout the ruins. There are very few visitors which is also great and you really feel as if you are the only people around.

The hotel is very close to Old Market area and the hotel will call a Tuk Tuk for you at the door. The Tuk Tuk's cost about $2 for the downtown/old market area and are a fun way to see the town.

Overall the hotel was great and the service was outstanding. I would return again in a heartbeat.

Must See:

1. Beng Melea
2. Pre Rup
3. Angkor Wat
4. Ankor Thom
5. Banteay Srey
6. Old Market

Must Have:
1. Cold Margarita's at Viva's in old market. (The best after a hot day!)
2. Cambodian BBQ with snake, crocodile, squid, chicken, and beef.
3. Any type of massage.
4. Amok, Lok Lak, Tom Yum.

Room Tip: They were just about to begin a construction project at the front of the hotel so you might want to...
