Borei Angkor Resort & Spa

Very nice hotel situated in a great little town. We arrived early in the morning and were met at the airport by the hotel. It is about a 15 minute ride to the hotel and upon arrival we were immediately greeted by the hotel staff. Even though it was only 08:30 in the morning the staff did everything they could to get us in our room early and after a nice breakfast we were in our room by 10:00.The room was very spacious with a king size bed, sitting area, flat screen with lots of channels, balcony, and large bathroom. There was a huge claw foot bathtub that was filled and topped with lotus petals!

The breakfast buffet was very good and I can't imagine that even picky eaters couldn't find something to eat. Made to order eggs, made to order crepes, salads, breads/muffins, Asian cuisine, you name it they have it. We did not have any other meals at the hotel but the menu looked very good. Very reasonable drink and mini bar prices.

The hotel arranged for our tour the day of our arrival. We had a car and tour guide and it was well worth it. The guide was great at gauging us and how much "knowledge" to impart and he knew of all the great spots to get amazing photos. It was very hot while we were there so it was very nice to be greeted by the driver with a cold water and washcloth. On our first day of touring we did the main Angkor complex and common temples. On our second day we went out to Bantey Srey and Beng Melea which is outside of the city of Siem Reap. You have to pay more money but it is definitely worth it. Beng Mealea is a temple that has only recently been opened. It has the jungle 'lost temple' feel and has amazing trees growing throughout the ruins. There are very few visitors which is also great and you really feel as if you are the only people around.

The hotel is very close to Old Market area and the hotel will call a Tuk Tuk for you at the door. The Tuk Tuk's cost about $2 for the downtown/old market area and are a fun way to see the town.

Overall the hotel was great and the service was outstanding. I would return again in a heartbeat.

Must See:

1. Beng Melea
2. Pre Rup
3. Angkor Wat
4. Ankor Thom
5. Banteay Srey
6. Old Market

Must Have:
1. Cold Margarita's at Viva's in old market. (The best after a hot day!)
2. Cambodian BBQ with snake, crocodile, squid, chicken, and beef.
3. Any type of massage.
4. Amok, Lok Lak, Tom Yum.

Room Tip: They were just about to begin a construction project at the front of the hotel so you might want to...

We enjoyed 2 nights at this hotel in a Deluxe room with balcony overlooking the pool, and were impressed by the cleanliness of the accommodation and the great attitude of the staff.

Our room design was rather strange as there was a large opening between the bathroom and the bedroom, but we discovered that this can be closed off with wooden shutters. The shampoo and bath gel are in little stone pots, attractive but perhaps not the most practical for use in a marble bathroom.

The dramatic architecture - especially the staircase - of the large lobby is pretty amazing, and the artfully arranged fresh lotus blossoms were a nice touch, as was the delightful Khmer girl playing soft music in the lobby.

The buffet breakfast ranks among the best we have enjoyed in Cambodia, (the Grand Marnier crepes were awesome), and the pool looked very enticing but we didn’t use it.

Although it is not centrally located we would not hesitate to return to this hotel.

Among many 5-star hotels I have ever stayed, Borei Angkor Resort and Spa in Siem Reap, Cambodia has been the best of the best ever to me. We could feel the cosy and warm ambience that the hotel had to offer. We stayed there three nights but it never seemed enough as we did not want to leave it at all on the last day.

The most amazing thing about its service is the staff who are just unbelievably attentive, caring, considerate, helpful, sensible and professional. The services were really beyond our expectation. It makes me love Cambodian so much. All the staff are great but what a shame I could only name some. They are Socheate, Monei, Srey Mom, Tharoth, Vuthy, Bunna, among others.

The room is spacious and comfortable with great view of tropical garden or swimming pool. The international breakfast is tasty. It's great if u like swimming as the swimming pool is beautiful. We could enjoy live music while swimming every night. The tropical garden is huge so we had the feeling of being in the forest. The location of hotel is also fantastic, less than 5 minutes by tuk tuk to the Night Market, and less than 30 minutes to Angkor Wat. I highly recommend you to stay here if you ever visit Cambodia's Siem Reap. I am already looking forward to going back there again soon.

Room Tip: Rooms with view of swimming pool is highly recommended.

Room was spacious and comfortable. However, there was no clock in my room.
Amazing service. Staff was very friendly and hospitable. One of my friends had a sore throat and requested for warm water, lime and honey. Subsequently, the staff remembered her requests and made sure it was sent to her before she asked.
Good food. Breakfast and lunch buffets were very varied. The mangoes served was a must-try. Had dinner twice at the hotel restaurant too and found the local cuisine amazingly delicious. The only problem was the slow service. Took them 20-30 minutes to serve the food and another 15 minutes to get the bills. Perhaps there were other functions that result in fewer staff attending to the restaurant.
Easy access to the main attractions. There's a constant supply of tuk-tuks waiting outside the hotel.
