We stayed at the Cashew Nut for 5 nights. We had never been to Cambodia before and we didnt really have a solid itinerary, but that didnt matter! We had free pick up/transfer from the airport to our accommodation at the Cashew Nut. Alan (the superman owner) was there to greet us and within 30 minutes we had our 5 day stay in Siem Reap planned out! Alan made everything so so so easy and was able to give us wonderful advise on almost everything in Siem Reap, from how much a Tuk Tuk should cost to get places, the prices on food/drink and the safety of the place (pretty safe!) We were checked in to our brilliant room with windows, air con, fan, bathroom, TV and balcony! After that we made it in time to the rooftop or the Sunset Lounge to watch the beautiful sunset come down over Siem Reap. The rooms were made up each day, and sheets and towels can be changed on request. The Cashew Nut offer services such as Laundry $1.50 per kilo and Alan can organise further travel, booking buses etc for you. The rooms are very clean, and for the price very very good. Alan is the icing on the cake of the wonderfully managed guesthouse. There is good reason that the Cashew Nut is number 1 on tripadvisor.

We are a young couple and spended our short but wonderful honeymoon in Siem Reap :) Alan, the people in the Cashew and specially the driver that came with us during our stay, Sokhoon, made our trip perfect. Not just the detail they had with us but the care they took on helping in every moment, giving us advice in places to go, etc... We will recomed it to everyone that goes to Cambodia!

The Cashew Nut Guest House is a lovely place. The room is ok, the location is fair, but the real value of the place is his owner – Alan. Alan is an Australian guy who used to be a tour guide, and as such, he will know to give you the best advises according to your type, what you want to see and how you want to experience this. He found us a driver for all 3 days we stayed there, a guide for one of these days (also recommended us to which of these days we should take a guide, and in which days it's not needed). Patiently and politely he answered our thousands of questions about the place and the country. He knows what tourists are looking for (not that common in Cambodia) – the little things that improve your staying, such as great breakfast, snack bars for sale, postcards and posting services, he publishes special events in the city where you can take part during the week, and the best – there's a great chill out roof to where you can order food.

Buttom Line: best value for money you can get.

We stayed in the Cashew Nut Guesthouse in January for a four day visit to Siem Reap. The customer service was excellent, helping us make the most of our short stay. Alan (the manager) has even sent us an email with some ideas for our onward travel to south Cambodia and Vietnam, which have proven to also be excellent. The best thing is that Alan has been there and tried it himself to ensure he is happy to recommend it to guests.

Close to the main area of town, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfasts filling. All our queries were answered and help provided with onward travel. Alan also has some excellent Tuk Tuk drivers to call on.

We stayed in the Cashew Nut Guesthouse for six nights in January 2012 to visit the temples of Angkor. The guesthouse is run by Alan and his friendly team who make this place an outstanding and enjoyable place, located in walking distance (~400 m) from the "Old Market". The rooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable and in our room we found a brochure with helpful insider information on Siem Reap, and Wifi was free and working at any time. On the roof there is a nice chill out place with a nice view (sunset and city). In addition to this, what makes this place outstanding is the owner Alain, who helped us putting together an individual tour to approach the temples in the optimum way. Given the size of the "temple park" you really need to have an idea where to start and what to visit. After three days we kind of got "templed out" a bit, and again, Alain proposed just the right "cure". He organized with english speaking Tuctuc drivers so that we always paid a fair price (for both sides) for our very friendly and relyable drivers.
In summary, we can recommend the Cashes Nut Guesthouse without any restriction of any kind. And if we come back to Cambodia, we will happy to stay there for a couple of nights.
