“Excellent hotel for a very attractive price!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2012

The hotel setting and service provide great value for our money spent. We stayed for 3 days, which only cost us US$100+ in total, breakfast included. We booked a suite and it was very spacious, just as shown in the hotel's photos. The room was stylish with traditional decor. It was very clean and quiet. Serving staff were cheerful, helpful and understood your needs. Breakfast was basic and in mini-buffet style, with good serving of fruits. The tuk-tuk driver, Sam, recommended to us by the hotel worked for us for 3 days. He was knowlegeable, reliable and speaks good English. He directed our schedule of visits to suit the temperature change of a day and served us with cold water and towel to give us maximum comfort. He gave us a brief introduction of every place we visited before leaving us to visit the site on our own. He drove us in his tuk tuk for 2 days and another day in his car (to fit in a tight scheule that includes a far-away site). We also learned from him many things about life in Cambodia. With Sam as your driver and a guide book in hand, you may not need a guide. The hotel was very close to the town centre, which makes it a convenient and at the same time quiet resting place after 3 days of intense temple hopping. It was an excellent hotel if you don't want to spend extra money on things like swimming pool or spa.

Room Tip: The room rate was very attractive, so if you don't mind spending a bit more, book a suite. It d...

We had 3 nights in this Hotel in March 2012. We were picked up complimentry from the Airport by Mr Thean our Tuk Tuk Driver. Beautiful room, spacious and lovely decor. Bathroom a pleasure to be in. Very comfortable bed. Complimentry breakfast with a variety of foods. Friendly staff and we were reasonably located to Pub street where it all happens at night. Easy to get a Tuk Tuk driver to take you as there always seems to be at least one outside the hotel.
Mr Thean who picked us up from the Airport also took us to all the Temples for 2 days. Very nice man and very helpful who spoke good english. He organised a tour guide for us Mr Rithy, who took us around the Temples and we recommend both of these guys. We would definitely stay here again.

the staff are extremely friendly and super accomodating. can't find any reason to not stay at this hotel! there's free wifi, there's free internet at the bar, if you need transportation to and from angkor wat they have it as well. they even give out a going away gift! their rooms are big enough, very clean as well. they bathrooms also have bath tubs, so that's a plus!

We can’t say enough about the Angkor Pearl. The staff was extremely receptive and friendly (helped us book a bus to Phnom Penh on our last day). Everything is nice and clean. The rooms were bigger than we expected with one of the most comfortable beds we have been in all of Southeast Asia. The breakfast and dinner were better than expected with a fair amount of variety. Although there is no pool, the ambiance here more than makes up for it. It is an inexpensive, peaceful and quiet little place to retreat to that lends itself to some easy exploration of the temples and the rest of Siem Reap.

As for the temples, we highly recommend booking with Sam the Tuk-Tuk driver (samtuktuk@yahoo.com). We made arrangements with Sam in advance over email for 2 days exploring the temples and he took very good care of us – providing water, towels, and places to eat whenever we needed to escape the heat. He and his staff speak excellent English (he actually lived in the US for a bit). Sam is a big reason why we enjoyed our trip so much and he works in connection with the Angkor Pearl, so you are definitely in good hands all around.

And as for access to the Siem Reap nightlife/marketplace, the Pearl is about a 10-15 minute walk (or short tuk-tuk ride) to Pub Street and the surrounding area with plenty of food/bar options along the way. We walked to and from the hotel (late) at night and did not have any problems with safety despite the darkness (and even a little rain). We actually enjoyed being a little bit away from the noise and constant party scene.

Overall, we highly recommend the Angkor Pearl for anyone who wants a nice, peaceful and relaxing place to stay at a very reasonable price. We would not hesitate to stay again.

We stayed 3 nights in March and loved each one. Our room was very spacious. King sized bed and a seperate sitting area. The staff was very friendly. The offer, almost insist, that they hold your key for your room when you go out ( In case you get robbed, or lose it in a drunk escapade). Our Tuk Tuk driver was always there when we need him. He took us on a 2 day tour and always had cold water waiting for us after scrambling around the ruins. At night time you can walk to the main strip with no issues. We never felt uncomfortable around the hotel. Great vaule
