The food and the drinks were very good. This place offers a different approach to local food, really innovative and flavourful. Would definetly recommend this restaurant.

I went to Spoons on my first night in Cambodia/Siem Reap and what a great introduction to local food and service.
The curry chicken was so tasty, and the coconut rice a lovely accompaniment. All washed down with a Cambodian beer.
Definitely recommend a visit and supporting this establishment.

My partner and I ended up a Spoons by randomly selecting it from a Trip Advisor list for Siem Reap. Wow are we glad. It’s a touch out of the main strip but just tell your tuk tuk driver and he’ll get you there. Firstly, on arrival you will appreciate the lovely street presence. After entering you will enjoy an indoor/outdoor style dining area that is nicely decorated and feels modern and clean. Our pleasant surprise was to find out that the whole concept of Spoons is to provide a business where students of the attached hospitality school can put their learned skills into practice. But the best part is those students are largely underprivileged and would not ordinarily be given the chance to study and a school like Spoons if it wasn’t for the funding raised via the proceeds of the restaurant. They call this an EGBOK Cafe which stands for “Everything’s Going to Be Ok”. Here’s the thing though- not for a second did I think my food was cooked or served by students. The food was AMAZING! Really interesting menu which paired great flavours and was cooked and presented as well as any 4 star restaurant. The service was perfect too. They have free wifi and and a well stocked bar where the students also put into practice they’re cocktail and wine service skills. Whilst it feels great knowing my food dollar contributes to the betterment of the local community, I really feel this was one of the best meals I had during my trip to Cambodia. You won’t be disappointed.
