Description: Tucked away in a hotel loading dock, on the edge of Dubai's sprawling coastline, The MAINE Oyster Bar & Grill is a seaside brasserie devoid of any pretension or gimmickry. As an expression of their North American roots, Montreal gastropreneur, Joey Ghazal and head chef, Liam Breen, are serving up a slice of culinary nostalgia for those longing for an honest dining experience. Of course no brasserie experience is complete without a glistening raw bar that anchors the room serving seafood towers, fashionable crudo and oyster galore. Boasting crowd-pleasing brasserie fare the family style menu runs the gamut from steaks and chops, to fresh fish and seafood, to pot roasts and steamers, bolstered by a slim unpretentious wine list. The long-bar at The MAINE attracts an eclectic crowd of young urbanites downing good old-fashioned cocktails by the bucket. Blending a post-industrial design aesthetic with a laid-back New England extravagance, the retro-vintage feel pays homage to the immortal charm of the state whose slogan justly proclaims 'The Way Life Should Be'.

A nice spot to dine in... authentic, nice decor, great food, good music, a bit too loud, gentle crowd... that's all you need for a good night out, and of course a bar which you can smoke at.

Dear Payment S,

Many thanks for your review. We will revisit the volume of the music with the team.Sometimes the weekend gets busy and also on Wednesday we have a DJ so can be a bit louder than usual. Hope to welcome you back again soon.

My first visit was a year ago when they were first opened and i didn’t like the place at all.. I have to admit that I am impressed with the vibe and the ambience they’ve transformed into. First of all food is excellent, try buratta and tryffle pizza for a starter and one of the best fish &chips in town! Of course if u r an oyster lover, you are in the right place. Unlike other mainstream places in Dubai, their ladies nite is on Wednesday; the drinks served are not of the best quality but it is worth visiting to see the vibe and the atmosphere! Especially the terrace is really nice. Don’t forget to book in advance!

Read about here and decided on a visit. Went on a Tuesday night and it was quite busy with a lot of younger customers on the terrace. On that night , it was quite noisy outside as there was a venue next door with a loud band. Had the soft shell crab to start which was very good and a big enough portion to share easily. Next, I had the halibut in bear aisle sauce which was truly amazing, white meaty fish, fresh tasted with a lovely sauce over potatoes. One of the best halibut I have ever had. My wife had the slow cooked ribs which were very good and another big portion. Wine was reasonably priced, for Dubai!, and the atmosphere was friendly, chatty kind of place. Worth booking as on wknds and ladies night it can get very busy, so I was told!!

Went here for a second time on Friday. Was pretty good and the halibut from Ireland, not Gigha, was great. Service ok, but not great, also the more reasonably priced wines not available. Nice place, but mixed opinion.

A cool place with a cozy ambience. The interior design is on point and gives an immediately feeling of a place that know what they are doing. Sitting outside you get the mild breeze from the sea together with the warm air. Nice combo.
Great food, wine and friendly and helpful waiters. They really create a welcoming and warm atmosphere.
