This was our 4th visit over a few years and we were again very impressed with all aspects of our stay. We booked the "Amour" package for a 2 night stay and were delightfully surprised to receive an upgrade to a Jr. Suite! Our room was on the 10th floor with a beautiful view of the garden and pool area and the city beyond. The suite was comfortably decorated, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. All the staff we encountered were attentive and always cheerful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and frequently updated with fresh supplies.
The breakfast buffet had an amazing amount of choices, with everything being deliciously prepared.
We took some pleasant walks on the many paths through the green, well-kept gardens...such a refreshing change from the busy surrounding city!
We would highly recommend the Grand Hyatt for anyone planning a visit to Dubai!!!

Not quite the prime location - I heard it was about 8-9 years ago, near to the airport. Having said that, to go to the city centre, it costs only AED20.- (around GBP3-4 ? ) or 15 min. Impressive lobby, efficient service. Room was very spacious, good interior but compared to new hotels, the facility looks a bit dated. Wifi was free but slow. Nice outdoor pool with good service.

Stayed here for a week in March 2012. Ten minute taxi ride form the airport. Staff extremely polite and friendly.Large pool - absolutely no problems in getting sunbeds at any time of day - the pool attendants do a great job. Always seemed to be four or five lifeguards on duty too. You do pay for this service in the form of expensive poolside drinks and food though. Tip: there is a convenience store in the lobby of the next door Hyatt Residences. A can of Coke there is 1.5 Dirhams (about 25 UK pence) !
Breakfast is a fantastic buffet. You sometimes have to queue at peak times.
Free wi-fi in the Panini Cafe if you order something (just a coffee is fine).
The Dubai Mall (largest in the world) and the Burj Khalifa (tallest building in the world) are just a ten minute taxi ride away. Taxis are really cheap - that trip is around 20 Dirhams (about £3.50). There are lots of restaurants at the Mall by the waterside - better value than eating in the hotel, and you get a free fountain/light show as well.
If you want to experience the new Metro, the local station is a ten minute walk away. The Metro is clean and reliable. A one-way trip across two zones (e.g. to Dubai Marina) is 6.5 Dirhams (just over 1 UK pound). It's very popular, so don't expect to get a seat unless you book the Gold fare, which allows you into the one carriage with leather seats etc - at double the price.
Overall the hotel is large and luxurious, and I'd have no hesitation in recommending it. It is considerably lower cost than the beach hotels too.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a "Creek" room - low cost option, well worth it.

The hotel is very large, and public areas have a weird layout, so your room can be quite a distance from the elevator and a further 10 minute walk to the pool. Very annoying if you have left your sunglasses behind. I was informed there was no wifi, but later learned by accident that one of the cafes has it - but the lengthy walk back for my device made it all too difficult. The location is good if you want a resort style stay and intend to remain onsite but it is not near transport links and is some distance from ‘the sights’, meaning a constant wait at either end for taxis or (expensive) hotel cars to get around. Rooms are standard for this class of property and the staff are generally friendly, although requests for non-allergenic bedding were met with blank stares from housekeeping as was a request to fix the TV. At these prices there are better located properties available for a typical Dubai visitor.

Stayed here for a conference I was speaking at. It was excellently located - just 10 minutes from the Airport.

The hotel itself was superb, the food (room service and restaurant) excellent and the staff very high quality in terms of attention. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
