We, a family of 4 including a 4 year old, traveled to Dubai from 18-Feb to 23-Feb and stayed at Howard Johnson Bur Dubai. Barring the way our check-in was handled, HOJO delivered on all fronts. Though we reached the hotel much ahead of 2 p.m. on 18-Feb, which is their normal check-in time, we did not get our junior suite allotted until 3:45 p.m. The reason given was the suite was getting readied as the earlier guests had checked in late!!! Does that mean we also pay you less as we got the room almost 2 hours late? Ridiculous! The only saving grace in this situation was Mr. James, the duty manager, who gave an alternate tiny room for the sleep deprived 4 of us, for the 2 hours! The initial experience was compensated for by the food at the in-house restaurant on all the days: the buffet breakfast was good and we also ended up having few lunches & dinners at the Indian restaurant of HOJO, which were suited to our Indian palate. The roof-top swimming pool was pretty average. The housekeeping did a good job of maintaining cleanliness in the room and daily replenishment of the utilities. All in all, it was a mixed experience at HOJO...

Nice hotel, centrally located in Bur Dubai, market is very near, good morning breakfast, good dinner, all facilities of a 3 star hotel. Transport is no problem. Gold souk & meena Bazar is very near. No problem of language in Dubai as almost every one speaks hindi/urdu. Amazing city with world's highest building Burz Khalifa. A good Budget hotel for families.

Howard Johnson hotel is located at Khalid Bin Waleed Rd, Bur Dubai near Cruise terminal. We have booked the Dubai tour through thomas cook holidays and stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. They have allotted the rooms at 2 PM as we came to hotel from airport by 9 AM, they told that rooms are full to allot early check in. The buffet breakfast is simply superb, the staff are friendly and helpful and every day they have cleaned the rooms & arranged neatly. The lobby area at reception is very small. Travel desk is helpful. The buffet dinner is average as they have arranged a separate dinner for thomas cook group. There is no Wifi in rooms..

Room tip: better to ask top floor road side view rooms
