This is a toll road that, in some places, is 14 lanes wide. The only way to travel down this road is by being very aware of all the lunatics driving cars, trucks, and lorries around you. Forget the rules of the road and concentrate on survival!!!!
I personally thing that an armoured car is the best mode of transport on thy:)

You cannot miss the Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai - a sprawling highway connecting most prominent locations in Dubai. You will see the best of Dubai cars on this road, and will definitely enjoy your high-speed drive on the highway. Our hotel was next to the Sheikh Zayed Road, and one can easily imagine the critical connectivity this highway provides by the amount of traffic on this road.

I enjoyed my taxi in a traffic jam a lot...at least I could take the pictures of buildings from this place. My camera was busy :-)
