Owner description: In the historic district, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai, is an affordable 10-minute traditonal wooden boat ride -- really a taxi. Take the abra from the Bastakiya side, look around the textile souk and the art galleries, and end in the gold souk. Used by 15-20 million passengers each year, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai is a memorable cruise in the water.

Take an Abra ride across the creek for 1 dirham or do as we did and have one to yourself for an hour for 120 dirhams. Lovely way to see dubai from the water.

Always a pleasure spending time by the creek. Lovely restaurants along the water and some good museums too. And the abras are a great way to travel to the gold and spices souqs from Bur Dubai. Only 1AED per journey. Visitors love it! Finally, a little more authenticity in this ultra glitzy city.

For a taste of old Dubai a trip over the Dubai Creek in a tradational Abra is must. Each trip will cost you the grand sum of 1 Dirham!(about 18pence). Take a tour of the souk when you cross.

The souk is great, have fun haggling, the abra boat service across the creek is brilliant, hop on and off you go, we had a pram and baby and it was no prob. The driver even let our son jump into the driver pit and have a go, excellent considering 1 year olds are not the best drivers!!

This is a great place to get a feel for how Dubai was years ago. The Abra's operate 24 hours a day for 1 dirham. There are 3 Docks to board in the Bur/Bastika side of the Creek. You can also rent your own Abra for an hour for about 120 Dirham. A wonderful treat! Go there and ride them, or just watch the action while having a tea and a shisha!
