From the moment you are collected (about 14.30) from your hotel (ours was the Bahi Ajman Palace), this is an occasion to remember. Your pristine Land Cruiser whisks you south-eastwards in comfort towards the desert. After about half-an-hour there is a comfort break where (if you want and at an additional cost) there is the opportunity to drive a quad-bike in the desert. Break over your Land Cruiser continues to the red sand dunes. There you have a ride, in our opinion, far better than any available on a fairground as you swing up and down the dunes. You have to have trust in your driver (ours was very assured) as he negotiates the vehicle, sometimes at impossible angles, through the soft sand. A break is taken; to relieve clenched muscles, take a short walk and watch the sun slowly slip below the horizon. Afterwards a short drive conveys you to your dinner buffet in a 5 star Desert Camp. Other included activities are camel and horse riding henna body painting, live Arabic music, Emarati Hair Dance Show, Belly Dance Show and a Fire Dance Show. After the conclusion of the evening's entertainment your driver carefully returns you to your hotel (at about 22.30). A night never to be forgotten.
