My family and I (2 adults and 2 children, 4 & 8 yrs), stayed in an Atlantis guest room for a week from the 24th - 30th October. On a B&B basis.
First of all, we really liked the hotel..it was very clean as you expect in Dubai, and 95% of the staff were very friendly and polite.
The room was alot better than we expected, the pics on the internet do not do it justice.
Food was also very good, we ate at a couple of the restaurants within the hotel.
The only problems we found, were the service as the hotel is to big and caters for more than just the guests to give the 5* service it should.

CHECK IN; If there are 2-3 families in front of you be prepared to wait 5 mins per family to get to the desk.We got there relatively early and missed the queues.

ROOMS; We had a room on the 13th floor overlooking the palm and the city-amazing! Our room offered two queen size beds, coffee making facilities, safe, iron and board, complimentary fruit and water, mini bar & hairdryer.

BREAKFAST; As B&B we were offered choice of 2 restaurants to dine at-Kaleidoscope and Saffron....Being on the west wing of hotel Saffron was closest, but service slow or rude...we asked for coffee one morning and after asking 3 times we got it 20 mins later.
My husband on another morning asked for a coffee,it arrived and when he sipped it,it was cold.He told the waitor it was cold and asked politely for a hot one and the waitor replied "well have you put cold milk in it"? his tone was very rude.
Breakfast is served here till 11.30am,but there are no pork items ie sausages and bacon etc here.
After 2 mornings of rude and slow service we decided to walk to other side of hotel and visit Kaleidoscope, this is definately the better of the two. Staff more friendly, my husband asked for hot coffee and they told him to ask for "straight from the machine" coffee, and from then on he did and it was piping hot.
Pork sausages and bacon were available in here but only open till 11am.
Queue's could get long here, but it was quick to go down and staff offered refreshments while you waited.

DOLPHIN BAY; We booked this trip about 4 weeks prior to arriving, we are very glad we did as alot of people could not get a reservation once there.
We made the mistake also of doing two seperate interactions, myself and 8yr old did the deep water interaction and my husband and 4 year old did shallow water interaction.
It was booked for the same time and this meant we could not take pics ourselves.
The photos each are 175 AED, we brought an album for 950AED with the 2 interactions we had in it (12 pics and a cd).You can purchase a beach pass if you wish to take pictures yourself.
Very very good experience and well worth the price.

KIDS CLUB; We sent our girls to a themed Halloween night from 6.30-10.30 pm for 50 AED each, and they loved it and the staff are very security/safety conscious.

POOL; My biggest gripe...sunbeds, we stayed around the kiddy pool through out our holiday from after breakfast till around 3pm.
If you dont get there before 9am all sunbeds at the front by the pool will be reserved, and you have to sit at the back if you can find a bed that is.
If you have small children who you have to watch in the pool like we did, sitting at the back is not an option and you would find yourself sitting in the pool for 2 hours .
Whats more infuriating is the fact that the front row beds which have been reserved (put more than a towel ie personal stuff on your bed, as they will disappear), were reserved from 9am, then at 2pm the family would come and sit on them with their children who were of an age say12- 13 yrs who didnt need watching in shallow water.
There are also plenty of lifeguards at this pool, and complimentary lifejackets of different sizes for non able swimmers.
Service also around the pool was slow, majority of the time you would have to go to kiosk to find a waitor, and the amount of times i asked for something on the small menu and got told " its not available today was unbelievable.

TAXIS; once again service, we left the hotel around 6.30pm one evening to be met by a queue (which we were told was 1hr wait) for taxis, the queue was formed of NON GUESTS and we as GUESTS had to wait in it. My husband complained to front desk that we should have PRIORITY, we got a taxi :).

AQUA ADVENTURE; very very busy, children under 1.2m are restricted from certain rides. rides slow moving and once again no priority for guests. Kids loved the splash pool, but once again busy and very cramped.

OSSIANO; a fine dining restaurant with amazing aquarium views from your table, we did this while children were at halloween kids club.
Food was amazing, recommend!

SHISHEIDO SPA; my husband had a 1hr swedish massage, they only allow same sex masseuse's too. i think it cost around 520 AED.

THE SHORE RESTAURANT; another example of bad service, we entered restaurant at 9.05 pm, we sat down were served with drinks and when we came to order food-starters, we were told we couldn't order starters as they closed at 9.30pm.
If we had been told this we would not have sat down, the waitor had to go and ask the chef if it was ok to do starters...which he ALLOWED.
after having starters and waiting for main meal at 9.50pm we were then asked to get our last orders in at the bar as it closed at 10pm!!
We asked to speak to the manager and complained that as we had been accepted in,seated and served and they should stay open till we've finished.Although apologetic and the offer of free desserts to our girls, we declined as we felt we were hindering their cleaning around us.

To sum up the hotel, yes it's grand and beautiful but i would not recommend this hotel, i would suggest you stay at another hotel and plan a day trip here, as i sense that's what everyone is doing anyway.
The hotel should make it that we Guests get more of a priority and then maybe the service within might be alot better.

Room Tip: It does not matter whether you have a big grand room or a small room, your hardly going to spend any time in it, so i would recommend saving your money have a smaller cheaper room and spend your hard earned cash on things for yourselves.

The hotel exterior thematic design, the loby design, the pools, access to Aquaventure and Dolphin Bay, music everywhere (even on the walkways and beach side). Amazing palm/sea views.

This is one great family hotel.with loads to do for kids.it is a beautiful property, clean and very well maintained.the water park was fantastic, with numerous lifeguards.my check in was quick and got my room immediately and was upgraded to a higher floor(skywards gold member).my daughter really enjoyed the dolphin bay and the kids play area.the breakfast was great,we never had to wait more than 5 mins for a tAble.the staff was very efficient.I used the spa it was good and expensive.the only dissapointement was the cost of food.....very very expensive.room service was quick but again expensive.I know it is Atlantis and I was expecting everything to be expensive but the costs were way too much for the food.the room was big but they need to change thedecor as it totally lacks the wow factor.the property was stunning though and staff very friendly.for my daughter being with the dolphins was the highlight. It is one of those places you have to do once at least!

Great hotel as long as you are a resident! Don't expect to be able to walk around the hotel with a friend who has come to meet you as it involves a lot of persuasion.
Apart from that the breakfast was amazing there was a wonderful selection for everyone.
