This hotel was originally built as a French Governor's residence in 1900s, located in a quiet residential quarter and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a luxury all-suites hotel with 25 suites with five-meter-high (16 ft) ceiling, private garden and a pool or gazebo with oversized bathtub. Excellent service showcasing the warm hospitality of Laos and French 'Art de Recevoir' in an enchanting setting with botanical garden, amethyst-tiled pool and a tented restaurant. Although located about 2 km from downtown, it is easily accessible by a 5-10 minute Tuk-tuk ride. We particularly enjoyed the group activities the hotel offers so that guests can socialize if they feel like it. The Lao cooking class was excellent and included a trip to the local market to buy all ingredients, with good explanations from the chef every step of the way. The daily complimentary tea hour at 4 pm on the poolside was also wonderful, as well as the basic Lao language classes at 3 pm. Would definitely recommend this particular property to anyone coming to Luang Prabang.
Complimentary coffee hour daily, cooking class and complimentary Lao language classes also helped guests socialize and meet each other.
