I had a perfect evening here: delicious food, very good wine, talk with the staff and the owner... Not the cheapest place in town, but still very reasonable for what you get.

For us, it started out as a "drink before dinner" but the gin & tonics were so good we decided to stay on - and were pleased we did.

It was very quiet on the street that night so choosing a restaurant by the number of people wasn't going to work. We had passed Arisai earlier in the day and received a lovely smile from a grandmotherly type so we went in that night. EXCELLENT vegetarian meal (2 courses) in clean comfortable surroundings. Well set up, attractive bar and dining area upstairs.

Good food, good drinks - what more can you ask for?

We love to dine with cous cous royal here. It is true that this dish is not to die for. But what do you expect in Luang Prabang. We are very lucky to have good morroccan food and servicing by beautiful waitress.

We were looking for a nice place to eat and ran across this place. We ate upstairs which was very nice. The air conditioning was a plus since it is quite hot during this part of the year.
We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who was very prompt and kept refilling our water.

The food was very delicious. We ordered the brochette duo, lamb penne, and chicken.
Each dish was very well prepared and the chicken dish had a very delicious sauce.

The price was a bit more than other places, but really this place is a fine dinning experience for Laos so you should expect the higher price.

i want to like this place. the food is decent and the only real mediterranean in town, but the owner I find to be a pompous chauvinist. the service is ok but nothing special (though this is lao, i am aware) and when you're upstairs if it's quiet you can hear the rats squeeking or even see them running across the floor. I've lived in Laos for over a year and never seen a rat in a restaurant except for here. do yourself a favor and move elsewhere.. unless you really want couscous
