Was here on business over Thanksgiving this year. Had some time off and overall completely enjoyed my time here. The hotel is connected to the airport terminal and restaurant and 2 gift shops - one big building. Check in was very easy, the lady at the desk was friendly to all of us. The rooms are I think converted dorm rooms from part of the American base that was here some years earlier. They are simple ro
Oma, but very comfortable and have plenty of space. There are not many amenities in there, and I wish there was a coffee machine at least. Several rooms have shared bathrooms, but most of the rooms have been fitted with in room showers and little bathroom spaces. These are also comfortable and clean, and the water is plenty hot - so no complains here.
The hotel has breakfast included in the price, which is in the airport cafeteria, so there is a large selection of very European breakfast items. I would say the breakfast was great overall.
The one issue I have with this hotel is the price. We paid about €200 for the night here. On mainland Europe this would have cost €75 per night. I can't blame this on the hotel though, it's because this place is so isolated and every thing needs to be imported into the country. It's not just the hotel that is expensive, the beer, the food and the transport all cost well above average. Please don't rule this place out for the price though, this country is very unique and fascinating. I would recommend doing the Ice Cap Tour if you have time. Spectacular views everywhere!
