The fact a stand-up argument was going on in reception when we arrived should have warned us what was in store at this hotel. I do not understand some of the positive ratings on here. The receptionist seemed embarrassed to work there, and kept agreeing with the constant complaints from a fellow guest. She encouraged them and then us to report our concerns anywhere we could.

Everything was very worn out and in need of repair/replacement. We were provided initially with only one small towel - the receptionist admitted sometimes they do not have enough towels for guests. Breakfast was adequate but the coffee was not even drinkable. The recently installed air-con (lack of being a criticism on these pages) in controlled by reception, and you have to tell them what temperature you want it set at. We did ask for it at least to be switched on, but it never was, a fact met by the now expected customary shrug from the staff when we mentioned it in the morning. Note that the main entrance is round the back, not the address you are given on the confirmation.

We like historical hotels, and were not expecting luxury. But we do expect a well-run establishment with polite staff who enjoy working there.

Booked the hotel as there was no other options. Luckily only for one night only. Staff was very nice and friendly but the building and room was not. Everything was very worn out and in need of repair/replace. You are provided only two towels big enough to dry maybe your face. Water pressure was very good and you are within walking distance to the city. Entrance to hotel is not at given address, but the other side of the building. Breakfast had good and fresh products and the staff was making sure everything was available, the coffee was not good though. Big plus for the staff.

If you choose this place, you should like stairs. Because if you are in the 3th floor going up and down a day is enough. The hotel is 10-15minutes far to the center, which could be long. There was air condition in the room, it's positive. The staff of the hotel was helpfull. The breakfast was correct (all kinds of breakfast food) .

The hotel rooms are on the three floors with high ceilings, and the breakfast room is in the basement. But no lift. No public rooms to sit in - not even a chair by reception when waiting your turn, or for a taxi.
Our room itself was fine and quiet, but the breakfast was basic with quite the worst coffee from a machine that we encountered in Istria.
The location is charmless, no pool and a long way from any beach. However the staff were helpful.

Room Tip: If you are lame like me, only accept a room on the ground floor

If you're looking for a beachside hotel, this is not it. It is a charming old style palace converted into a hotel. Free parking, very decent breakfast, modest price even in high season, pleasant walk to the centre, good cevapcici place around the corner.
