“Outstanding hospitality”

This 400 year old house on a hill within Dubrovnik's city walls has been attractively renovated by Kristina. Good use has been made of restricted space and a lot of thought has been given to the comfort of guests. As well as excellent kitchen facilities, there is an abundance of supplies left for the use of guests, the generosity of which, in my experience, is very unusual. This also applies to bathroom supplies, and to towels etc, and while the bathroom is small and adjacent to the kitchen, everything works well. The location is very convenient and close to shops, right beside one the main restaurant streets, and also close to a bus stop for the airport and the cable car. Kristina also leaves a very useful information pack. Highly recommended but one cautionary note not for dodgy knees or hips as the gradient is steep and the steps narrow.

“Home away from home - amazing!”

We stayed here for 5 nights in early October. When we arrived Kristina our host met us on the gate to the Old Town with her boyfriend Srdan and they instantly made us feel welcome.
The apartment was about 5 mins walk from the Old Town gate and only 5mins from Stradun (the main street in the old Town). The street is very steep and has A LOT of steps so I would not recommend the apartment if going up and down steep steps would be a problem (however most of the Old Town of Dubrovnik is full of steep narrow streets and steps and this adds to the charm)!

Once we got inside, we were shown around, the apartment was just as pictured. Kitchen diner (oven, hob, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, table and 4 chairs) and small bathroom (toilet, sink, shower, washing machine) on ground floor, double bedroom on first floor and twin bedroom on second floor. The whole apartment was beautifully clean and neat and wooden floors throughout. It was quite a small apartment overall, but I think as this is a refurbished apartment in a 400yr old building it is expected and is by no means a negative point.
Kristina had filled the fridge with milk, juice, bread rolls, butter, a cheese and proscuito platter and fruit. There was also a bottle of wine and some homemade local spirits left on the dining table as well as bowls of sweets one on each floor!!!! This went beyond what we expected!! Most places we have stayed have provided basics such as tea/coffee/milk but to have all these things was brilliant!! We were told to help ourselves to anything in the apartment.

There was more than ample storage space in both bedrooms with a double wardrobe in both rooms including hangers!! Beds were really comfy, lots of pillows and spare blankets if needed. There was plenty of fluffy towels provided. If we needed to wash anything there was a washing machine and detergent provided.
The bathroom was very small and could not fit more than 1 person in at a time, although this was mentioned on the site. It was perfectly clean and the shower was very good and powerful and always hot water! Just a shame the bathroom was on the ground floor next to the kitchen, but again this is due to the confines of the small old building. It was perfectly good for what we needed.

Overall, Kristina was fabulous, the location is central in the middle of the Old Town but not too noisy, and the apartment was clean, modern and very comfortable. We loved our time there, and would happily stay again if we were lucky enough to visit Dubrovnik!
