If you like an unending show of the old city, the sea, the coming and going of boats (including massive luxury yachts, cruisers, kayaks, etc.) you will love this location. You can sit and watch for hours and then enjoy the sunset over the city. Just gorgeous. The tradeoff, of course, is that it's not too bad walking down the several hundred steps to get into the city but it's murder coming back up. Yes, take a taxi, and include a budget for that, although taxis are cheap. You have to walk down three flights of steps from the road to the front door of the apartment, and there are also about 15 winding steps inside the apartment going from the main floor living area (and bathroom) down to the two bedrooms. BE SURE to ask how to operate the water faucets and shower. The water is extremely hot and after it is on, you'd better know how to turn it off or redirect it or you will get burned. This happened in the shower because the controls were completely foreign to us and not very intuitive. I ended up getting squirted from all directions with scalding hot water. For the kitchen and bathroom sinks....practice turning on the cold water first, then add hot. The owner is extremely responsive and has someone helping to oversee the daily needs of the apartment. He can even line up airport transfers, which is very convenient, so be sure to ask if you are interested. The neighborhood is very nice. We had a real adventure one day when a stray goat got into the garden and spent the night in our fenced in area. The next morning the neighbors called the police to help find the owner of the goat, and pretty soon we were out there meeting and chatting with neighbors, police, and then the farmer who came to collect the goat. We got to hear the whole story and we met some really nice people. You will appreciate the strength of the air conditioning in this place. We were there during a massive heat wave and it was heavenly to open the front door after being out in the hear all day and feel the nice cool air. The kitchen is extremely small but well equipped. The issue is that there is hardly any prep space, without having to use the dining room table or even a tray laid on top of the idle burners of the electric stove. There are lots of spices, cleaning products, extra sunscreen and things like that left from previous travelers and linens and towels are provided, along with a good, strong and fast internet service. All in all, it was a fantastic place to stay. We were there 10 days.
Great apartment, picked up from the airport which was fantastic. Fabulous view from a large balcony, plenty of room for 4, with two large sofa's. Really loved our time in Dubrovnik. Spent most of our time in the atmospheric walled town, do the wall walk early and the cable car. We walked down which was fun but v hot! It was nice to walk round the town in the evening, plenty of eateries and bars, however the steps and incline walk back to the apartment helped to burn off those calories!! Overall a lovely stay with views over Lokrum and the millionaire yachts!!
What a beautiful spot!! The apartment was perfect for our short trip to Dubrovnik. It was very spacious with a good selection of amenities. Safe and quiet it was a perfect resting spot with a beautiful view of the old town from the wonderful balcony. The furniture was comfortable and in good condition and there was lots of very handy storage. The only obstacle we had were the large amount of steps up to the property from the old town, which I wouldn't recommend attempting if unfit, but taxis were cheap and easy and it also meant we could enjoy more cake and wine without feeling guilty. Communication with the property manager and owners was very good. I would highly recommend this perfect spot and would return if I was ever heading back to Dubrovnik.
