Stayed here last year with a group of friends for 4 days. The Villa was lovely, small but clean pool, great outside eating area and the BBQ was a lot of fun. There is a restaurant opposite and the bus stop with direct service to Dubrovnik is only 50yrds up the road (travel time 25 minutes ish). I would recommend Villa Hedera to groups of friends or older families, but due to the set up it could be awkward with young children.
Fantastic getaway swimming pool kept kids and me occupied shops just down the road walking distance.the villa needs a little finishing off but altogether excellent,the bbq was the best I fired it up everyday but I bought the shop out of steak on first day so had to have pork rest of stay the people we hired it off were fantastic helping in ever way possible overall rating EXCELLENT ...
Firstly I'd like to say the girls managing this place are great and so helpful.
The property is quite far from the old town, we were led to believe 20 mins on bus, but more like 35. Not a problem but the buses are hot and crowded.
The property is directly opposite a lovely restaurant and there are others a short bus ride away. A local shop is a short walk away, so everything you need is nearby.
We did like the villa and were very happy with what we paid, it was pleasant and we had a great stay. It's very nice looking and we had everything we needed included.
Our only niggles, which did not ruin our stay, were as follows;
We don't believe the pool was heated properly until our third or so day when an engineer came.
We couldn't make the air-con upstairs work, considering at least one of the rooms had no opening windows this made it uncomfortable to say the least.
The downstairs bedrooms were dark and damp smelling, one in particular.
When we booked this villa through Affair Travel on a British website no one mentioned that this property is over three floors. Basically there is a ground floor apartment which is self contained and sleeps four in two double bedrooms. Access to the additional three bedrooms is via an external concrete staircase to another front door. Once through this door you are faced with a door to the first floor which is locked as this area is unfinished and a further 16 steps to the second floor where there are three double bedrooms. This is not suitable for a family and I constantly worried about the safety of my daughter and her friend who had to occupy the self contained apartment. The first floor is unfinished and full of junk. In addition two of the showers blocked within minutes of use and workmen had to be called to the property on our first day, the first of many visits.. The oven fell out twice as it was not securely fixed to the counter. Fortunately on each occasion I was putting trays back in so the oven was cold.If hot it would have been a serious accident. No manual or instructions were left as to how any appliance worked and the only cleaning implement was a hoover with bent pins on the plug so could not be plugged in. The dishwasher is of the mini variety so not equipped for 10 people. The swimming pool became unusable when the workmen switched off the heating in error. There were three loungers around the pool and insufficient garden furniture.
The property is unfinished. Not only is it obvious that the first floor is incomplete, there are snagging problems all over the property. Examples of unfinished items include protruding wires, an unfinished balcony, metal posts awaiting a canopy on the gate posts.
The kitchen belongs to a two bedroomed apartment and is therefore not designed to meet the needs of people hiring a five bedroomed villa. In the description on website, the villa is described as having 5 double bedrooms, one of which may be configured as twin beds. This is not the case. In fact, there is a twin bedded room on the second floor and on the ground floor, both rooms which are advertised as double beds are actually two twin beds pushed together. The king sized bed on the second floor was made up with two single sheets.
We had to wait in for workmen on several occasions and in the end we could not describe this as a holiday as every day there was something else amiss.
The point is this is not a villa. It is a self contained apartment on the ground floor with three double bedrooms on the second floor. Fair enough if that is what is described as same. If it had been we would never have booked it. It is supposed to be luxurious and we certainly paid top rate for it. I see that none of the photos here show the property in its entirety so presumably the first floor is still unfinished. And finally, you are better off turning left out of the property, not right, if you want a more pleasant residential area with decent bakery and general store. To the right is a huge estate with graffiti. It is more like 30 minutes by bus to Dubrovnik and I note the good restaurant is not named, certainly the one pizzeria we found served food of poor quality and those of us who had pizza were all ill afterwards. The distance from Dubrovnik meas that if you don't hire a car once you are back in the villa you remain in and will cook at home.

Our stay at Hedera A23 was almost perfect. Everything was as described on the website. It`s situation was ideal if you want to be away from the city centre but with good access to it. Apart from a restaraunt everything for your daily needs was in walking distance. Hopefully the few things that stopped it being perfect will now be rectified.e.g no barbeque tools. The best self catering apartment I have ever stated in.
