great place to be located, right on harbour side so great views but no other hotels in immediate vacinity, very quiet at night. Plenty of bars / eating places within 5-10 mins walk up over the hill. Also no 6 bus stops right opposite hotel which takes you to old town in about 10 mins.(Can buy bus tickets from reception, cheaper than buying on the bus) Took 'hotel boat' trip round Eliphiti Islands one day, small boat just for guests, max 12 persons, very enjoyable trip 9.30 - 5pm. Great breakfast - wide variety. Pool area busy but relatively quiet & relaxing, pool bar very comfortable. Staff all friendly & very helpful. Lucky enough to have been given an upgrade on arrival to a suite at front of hotel, couldn't fault it.

This hotel is truly wonderful. It is a very laid back friendly hotel with superb facilities. I have already written a previous review for a weekend in May. This time we stayed two weeks with children and family. We had interconnecting rooms and the children were made extremely welcome. The children were aged beteen seven and fourteen and as the hotel as quite small and friendly it felt perfectly safe to let them roam about and use the pool.

I would return to this hotel and Dubrovnik tomorrow and would recommend it for romantic weekend and a family holiday.

Hotel Lapad is a large hotel. The location was not hugely convenient in terms of getting into the old town of Dubrovnik. There are buses that run past the hotel heading west but it is a one way road. There is a bit of a walk to catch the bus into town therefore, or a 30 minute (approx) walk in total to reach Pile Gate on the west side of the old town. The buses were also nearly always completely crammed full and a little expensive, but run regularly. The location is probably more convenient than many of the other hotels in the Lapad peninsula area, it is just where they all seem to be located.

The room was located in the newer rear part of the hotel, which required a bit of a trek up to the first floor, along a corridor and then another lift to reach. It was however very clean and modern with good facilities. The air conditioning was a little noisy, with no lower fan settings and so it was either on full blast or you had to turn it off. The bathroom always smelled a bit damp, but it was well maintained and cleaned. The wi-fi was free and worked fine in our room on the 7th floor towards the end of the building

The balcony area was too small for two people to sit out on and so wasn’t really worth paying extra for, and while the views are ok, unless you are in the older front building they are side views rather than looking directly over the bay.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast selection was brilliant, with convenient hours too. The pool area was a little small for the number of people at the hotel so there were limited sun-beds free at certain times, but the pool, restaurant and bar areas were all well maintained and clean, and the staff were the friendliest we encountered in Croatia.
