The hotel is located about 35 minutes walk from the old walled city of Dubrovnik. It is right on the waterfront at the Gruz harbour where all the cruise ships dock.

It's convenient for the beach, for the harbour and the bus stop to old town Dubrovnik is right opposite the hotel.

The rooms have recently been refurbished and are a gadget lovers paradise! Plenty of buttons and electronic switches to change the lighting in the room. And, the first hotel I've ever stayed in with climate control rather than air conditioning - very good.

The bed was comfortable and the room was modern, well designed and immaculately clean. The room came with a free safe and the free wi-fi was incredibly useful and available in every room and the public areas.

The swimming pool is small but plenty of sunbeds and free towels.

The restaurant was good and the food was very good if a little repetitive. There is also 'poolside' dining on an evening but can be a little pricey. The bar area let the hotel down as it was very expensive and not particularly atmospheric - they could have done to improve the lighting and entertainment. Fortunately, just up the hill towards Babin Kuk are a whole host of bars and restaurants.

The staff on the reception, the restaurant and the domestic staff were amazing. They really did go above and beyond and made our stay perfect. Can you believe none of them have a day off between March and November?!

The hotel has a small but free car park if you hire a car although Croatian drivers can be a little mad-headed.

I'd recommend booking the three islands tour through the hotel rather than through one of the numerous other companies. The trip was competitively priced and you go on the hotel Lapad private boat which seats just 12 people which is much more fun than being herded like sheep on the other boats which go from the harbour.

Would definitely stay here again when visiting Croatia.

We stayed in Hotel Lapad for a short break in July 2010 and we loved every minute of our stay.
We searched for a Dubrovnik hotel for ages, trying to find the best rates and what we found were hotels were either reasonably cheap but had very poor feedback or a little more expensive but worth the money! Thankfully we stretched our budget to cover Hotel Lapad.
We were told upon arrival that our room had been switched to a sea view which we found to be perfect. It was lovely to have a view over the bay at the HUGE ships and lovely scenery.
Breakfast was delicious and there was a lot of choice - amazing that it was all included in the price! We also really enjoyed the pool although beds got snatched up very quickly but late afternoon there was often some available for a lazy end to the day.
The only weird thing about the hotel is the bathroom which has a clear glass door and wall so whoever you are sharing with can see who is in the shower and who is on the loo. It was bit odd but as a couple it was not really a problem for us!
Overall a lovely stay and will definitely try to go back if visitng Dubrovnik again!

Room Tip: Make sure to get the sea view!

We had a week at the Hotel Lapad and enjoyed it very much. The staff were excellent and so helpful - they really couldn't do enough. I am a coeliac and cannot eat wheat products which can be a nightmare abroad but the staff at the hotel were knowledgeable and would advise me on what was safe for me to eat. The meals are buffet style and there is always lots to choose from and they even provided gluten-free bread! The cleaning staff are also very friendly and our room was always immaculate. The hotel's situation is perfect - a bus ride to the old town and a short walk to the beaches or the coast walk where you could find a spot on the rocks to dive into the sea.

We are very pleased with our stay. We were two children at 11 and 12 years old, my husband and me who are 39 and my mother in law with her husband who is 60 years old. From 11 to 60 and everyone was having av fantastic stay.

The service was great from ordering the hotell to arriving and leaving. One of the staff did what he could to make our reservation like we wanted it; the rooms next to each other and he also helped us with booking transfer from Dubronvik to Sibenik with return for a good price. When contacting the hotel before we arrived, they answered our mails very quick.

The hotel is not far from the old town and the bus goes all the time for 12 kuna or 10 kuna if you buy the ticket at the hotel. I will recommend the hotel for it's location and I also recommend superiour rooms with seaview!

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Hotel Lapad. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The rooms are very clean and modern. The public areas are bright and very clean. The reception service was excellent. The food and waiter service excellent. The desserts are wonderful!
Dubrovnik Old Town, has to be seen to be believed. Just wonderful. The walk around he walls is a must. A visit in the evening is very recommended.
The buses run very regularly and are inexpensive. Buy tickets from the hotel reception. They can, however, get very full. Fortunately the journey is only about 10 minutes. We walked back in the evenings - approx 45 minutes.
We walked to the beach Copacabana. To find this turn left from the hotel entrance, walk 200 metres to the petrol station. Turn right for approx 400 metres. At the end of the road you will see a sign for the 'Scenic Walk'. A lovely walk by the waters edge. You will see a number of places to sit and relax. There is also a quiet pebbled beach just before yo get to the Copacabana beach.
Will definitely return.
