Lovely, comfortable apartment. A real home from home with a large balcony from which you can see the Old Town and amazing sunsets. Located 15-20 minutes walk from the town (beware the steps coming back - it's a real work out!) and the same distance from St Jacobs Beach. Owner very welcoming and told us the best places to eat and visit. Would recommend and would like to go back.
My wife and I had a week at the Apartment Bakus in September 2016. We arrived late evening and within 3 minutes of calling the owner, his charming parents appeared to greet us. It was a warm welcome and we appreciated the kind touches - chocolates, Croatian wine, fruit juice and a wonderful fresh fruit platter.
The apartment was spotless and all the furniture was modern and quite new, with good quality fittings, the bedding was good quality, the bed was comfortable. We didn't use the air conditioning but would have appreciated it if we had been there in high summer.
The kitchen was small but fully equipped for the preparation of simple meals. A tap started leaking while we were there and within no time at all the owner had arranged a repair and had replaced a damp kitchen rug, apologising profusely for something which was no inconvenience to us at all.
Needless to say the views of the old town of Dubrovnik and the island of Lokrum were sublime and we enjoyed breakfasts, drinks and the odd supper on the balcony. Dubrovnik is a wonderful place for a visit and we would love to return and explore more of Croatia and the Dalmatian Coast.
The apartment was a walk out of town but a gentle coastal walk towards the old town alongside the sparkling Adriatic did not feel like much of a hardship and once or twice when my wife rebelled, we caught a bus or took a taxi. The geography of the area means there are a lot of steps around and indeed to the apartment but we are a pretty sedentary couple in our 50s and felt we we making some amends for the excellent food and wines we took full advantage of.
We would definitely recommend this apartment, Dubrovnik and Croatia.
