Casa Santo Domingo is just a great place to visit. Immaculately maintained grounds, historical architecture, beautiful macaws, flowers everywhere, AND interesting historical and museum areas. Reasonably good signage make it easy to visit, but a local guide does accentuate the experience. It is a shame that they feel it necessary to charge for the museums...as the entire remainder of the Casa Santo Domingo complex is fascinating and enjoyable to visit and open to the public. This is a "must do" place to visit if you are in Antigua.

Absolutely amazing experience! Wander throughout the ruins, the restaurant, the cathedral, the antiquity. The best cultural experience in Antigua. Go at night - it is magical!

This place is “una maravilla” - a beautiful, wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy everything in an unhurried way. Santo Domingo is situated among picturesque colonial ruins. The price of admission gives you access to 6 different museums including the Silver Museum, crypts, and absolutely beautiful art museums. One compares ancient and modern works depicting similar themes in an extraordinarily interesting way. When you need a break there are benches outside where you can sit and listen to the parrots. So go and enjoy yourself!

The complex of Santo Domingo is one of the highlights of the old colonial town of La Antigua Guatemala. The three museums I have visited are great, amazingly beautiful. For a fee of only 38 Quetzales (about 5.5 dolars by the rate at the time), you are allowed to visit the “Glass and Pre-Colombian Museum” (wich have an innovative way to present Mayan art next to contemporary glass crafts), “Colonial Museum” (religious art) and the “Arqueological Museum” (mostly pottery and incense burners). As a plus, all of them are in the same area, easy to reach, among the ruins of the convento.I highly recommend as a must do in the city.
