On a surprise trip to Annapolis my boyfriend took me to the Academy. We stayed in the Cathedral View room which has a bit more to it than the brochure shows. There is art work and a fantastic old dresser that blocks the view of the tub from the bed. The shower was to die for!! It includes a steam room.
The owner was attentive and knowledgeable about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast of homemade granola, fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, french toast, and plenty of tea.

This was our first time at a B&B and will not be out last! We plan on coming back for a second visit. I highly recommend the Academy!!!

Room Tip: The house is RIGHT in the center of town! Perfect location to everything.... I also recommend going...

My wife and I rented the entire inn for our wedding guests. As they began to arrive, no one was to be found to check them in. After a number of phone calls, someone finally showed up but had no clue where to put our guests inspire of the list we sent to the inn keeper months before. After the initial issue, we called the inn keeper and explained that more guests were coming shortly. He assured us that he would be there. Again, guests arrived with no one to let them in.

Shortly after check in, when we tried to take showers, the water was ice cold in every room. The inn keeper had turned off the hot water and forgot to turn it back on.

You would think that after all that, he would be willing to try and make up for the issues with some form of good will. Instead he charged us full price.

Bottom line, nice inn, terrible service!

John (owner) is a most gracious host! Our room (Harbour View) was lovely and the bath was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious and filling! We forgot our phone charger and John called right away and made arrangements to mail it to us. Will surely return.

A wonderful girl I started dating bought a fantastic groupon for this bed and breakfast a few months ago. She had done a b&b before, but I never had. I've also never been to Annapolis and wasn't sure what to expect. Well, I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. My review is mainly predicated on the fact that the bathroom was excellent! Probably the size of a small bedroom and filled with so many relaxing, fun, spa-like amenities that both of us couldn't get enough. The room itself was very good but the bathroom was definitely excellent. From a massive bathtub with jets, interesting mood lighting from above, to the largest shower cabin I've ever seen with even more jets "nailing you from every direction" as the lovely b&b owner described. We found the coziest bathrobes EVER, an incredibly comfortable couch where we loved to lay to cool off from the heat in the bathtub and shower cabin, and lots of light from the 4 windows all around. The bedroom was fine, but I can honestly say we took the BEST nap ever on the mattress. At least a top 5 best nap of my 30 years of life. We woke up early for the breakfast which was delicious. Then, back to the room for this exquisite nap. Mattress and blankets were warm and cozy, again more light penetrating through the windows while we slept comfortably, a TV hanging from the wall, and pure bliss in an otherwise chaotic/stressful working adult life. The 2 nights at this particular b&b were dream-like, the accommodations were perfect, the owner is incredibly helpful with providing an iron, to helping with parking, breakfast was good, and the location is RIGHT next to the main square in Annapolis. I have nothing but great things to say, and I would highly recommend anyone staying here for a relaxing, easy, deviation from the hustle & bustle of the city.
