The loft was lovely, comfortable, clean and safe, but it doesn't even compare to Patty's hospitality. She loves her city and her properties and knows everything and everybody making our stay the best it could be. She got us rides to and from the airport at all hours for 3 different arrivals, all at the best rates in the city. We had so much fun chatting with her when we arrived as she showed us the loft and gave us great ideas for how to spend our time. We knew she was a quick email away and responded very quickly to every question before, during and even after our trip! Don't know why you'd even look at another place to stay. We couldn't be happier and more grateful.

We visited in July 2017 and I wrote and extensive review. We are considering returning and when looking at reviews I inadvertently “liked” a review and couldn’t delete my response. It mentioned that the condo was in a “grey area”. This was an old review from 2013 and it should be noted that Casco Viejo in under a great revitalization right now and the area was very safe on our more recent visit. Our stay could not have been better. I’m sure that even in the past few months some of the new areas being refurbished are complete at this time. Cannot recommend this location or these hosts more. I’m sorry I accidentally hit the button. I certainly did not agree with that but couldn’t remove it.

Yes Casco Viejo is ever changing/evolving...it is the hot spot of the city! The locals flock to this area to enjoy a night out...it's a foodie destination! But apart from the eatery scene you won't find another neighborhood with the same vibe...it's just an easy neighborhood to live in since it is a walking neighborhood and has earned it's UNESCO World Heritage Site for a reason!
Looking forward to having you back and welcome our new guests!

Visiting Casco Viejo was a unique experience. Our stay at the 2-bedroom loft enhanced this experience. We immediately felt at home! Patty and Rudy saw to meeting all our needs. From the guided tours to the available resources in the loft, we were able to easily familiarize ourselves with what the city had to offer. Thank you to both of them! We definitely want to return one day! We are looking forward to seeing Casco Viejo's ongoing restoration and beautification. Merci beaucoup pour cette merveilleuse expérience.

Your family was just lovely and we are happy you have enjoyed your stay with us!
The 2 bedroom Loft is spacious and well equipped for families or 2 couples traveling together and the supermarket around the corner makes it a great location...should you enjoy a night in!
A bientôt! Patty & Rudy

Our party of three stayed at the 2 bedroom loft in Casco Viejo for just over a week. I can't recommend the apartment highly enough. The listing description was accurate, but doesn't do the loft justice - it is a welcoming, sylish and comfortable place to stay. The loft was meticulously clean and well maintained. All of my communications with the property owner were incredibly prompt and informative. Patty welcomed us at the loft and showed us around and was available via email during our stay for any questions that we had. While the steps up to the apartment may leave you a bit breathless, it's worth it for the view from the verandah. The neighbourhood is great - this part of Panama City is undergoing massive revitalization and the loft is steps away from amazing restaurants and a couple of craft breweries that I'd also recommend (Casa Bruja and La Rana Dorada). If you tire of wandering the old city, day trips to the Pearl Islands or the Panama Canal are easy to arrange. If you want a day poolside, you can get a day pass at the Hard Rock Hotel in downtown Panama City for only $45 a day (which they give you back in food and drink credits). Overall, Panama City exceeded my expectations and the loft in Casco Viejo was the perfect place to stay.

It was a pleasure to host you and your party!

And so happy that you have enjoyed your stay @ the loft...we try to have a home away from home for our guests no matter which property is chosen;-)

Casco Viejo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and follows strict regulations to preserve the original artistic architectural building styles of centuries ago. One of those regulation is to preserve the number of floors, the original facade and no elevators. The essence and beauty of staying in Casco Viejo is to live and experience this lifestyle that existed since 1673. Most of our guest, of all ages, become used to it and are actually happy for the exercise so they can enjoy the many restaurants this foodie neighborhood has to offer guilt-free;-) It is a healthy daily workout!

However, as outlined on our web site & pictures of the stairs, our Casco Viejo properties are not recommended for guests with hip or knee problems (we offer our upscale Amador condo with elevator within a 10 Minutes taxi ride...with awesome sea, mountain and skyline views I might add;-).

Saludos from sunny Panama! Patty & Rudy

We stayed in the two bedroom Casco Viejo loft for 17 days over a 22 day period (took 5 days to go birding in El Valle in the middle). It is on a hill with a great sense of light, a balcony to have a glass of wine on. The apartment is furnished carefully with artwork, good quality, comfortable furniture, granite counter, and attractive lighting -- all of which made it more like a home. Also big TV facing a comfortable sofa. The kitchen is well equipped; there's AC, wifi, an iron and ironing board, a washer dryer on the first floor, and a notebook referencing local resources. There's a small, modern supermarket half a block away, which we went to all the time. Patty is immediately responsive to any question, and very willing to give advice on local attractions, restaurants, museums, stores. Rudy's tours are terrific, and he is an intelligent, well informed, insightful and indefatigable host who is Panamanian which is great. On his Lake Gatun/Monkey island trip he went out of his way also to hustle up some very interesting birds, because he knew we were beginning birders. They are delightful, offer airport pickup and drop off, and private tours as needed. We will look no further when we return to Panama in the future, than their accommodations, tours, and warmth. We were students at the Spanish school in Casco Viejo.
