I found this hotel depressing.
The room was semi-subterranean, which immediately gave it a gloomy air. It was small, with nowhere to put my suitcase, and had no safe. There was a dreary grey carpet on the floor. There was no air conditioning (or if there was, it wasn't controlable) so the room was quite hot all the time.
Since there is no restaurant, you really never see anyone, so it feels isolating. Some of the staff speak English and others not really. You have to pay for a coffee capsule, which feels incredibly ungenerous.
The location is between two metro stations, both of which would be a fair hike with luggage. If you use the Universitet metro, it is a steep climb uphill, which loses its charm on the twentieth time. The immediate surroundings are very quiet.
I'm sure there must be better places to stay in Kiev.More
