We love to travel (family of 4 from the Netherlands) and we took the opportunity to travel to Sofia this spring. That raised some eyebrows, but we now know that Sofia (and Bulgaria) is an excellent travel destination with lovely weather, friendly people, tasty food and interesting sights.
As a place to stay during our 6 days we chose Derelli Deluxe Apartments, based on the location and reviews and of course the price. We met the owner at the airport and he drove us to the apartment: extremely friendly man, who drove us to the city centre after we dropped our bags (because we were too early).
The apartment is at the 6th floor of an apartmentbuilding in a neighbourhood near the citycentre (we walked most of the days) but also close to a subwaystation (Lionsbridge). Is was very clean and convenient. The parents took the sleepingroom, the children slept on the convertible couch. There was airconditioning to keep the apartment cooled. The kitchen was complete in everything.
When we arrived, there were flowers, a bottle of wine, sweets and even beer in the refrigerator. What a welcome!
Every room has a TV and soundsystem (even the bathroom…) but the lighting on sensors was somewhat annoying, because we could not figure out which switch was for the light or a sensor.
When we had to fly home, we were able to store our luggage at the owners apartment (next door) and the owner offered us a bottle of wine again because my wife had her birthday: how friendly! Just like all the other people we met during our stay in Bulgaria.
So to conclude: Derelli Apartments had a great contribution to our excellent and relaxed holiday in Sofia: we will definitely return to the city and try to stay in this apartment.
The apartment was the ideal location for us for our stay in Sofia?
The host Zdravko and his friend/colleague were very friendly and very helpful.
He even offered us a ride to Plovdiv during our stay, as he had to go there himself on a visit.
I would definitely recommend this apartment to everyone who would like to visit Sofia.
