We found this room on a leaflet at the visitor centre, we were on foot so walked the 10 minutes or so up the main road from town. There was a room available so we decided to take it, couldn't be worse than our first night!
It was basic and clean with plenty of space. 3 rooms shared a small shower/toilet but this was cleaned regularly and served its purpose.
The young girl was very patient with us speaking no French and was helpful when we had difficulty making a card payment. There was a small kitchen available downstairs if we’d wanted to use it but as backpacking were carrying everything we needed to prepare food in our room.
Other guests were regularly sitting downstairs watching TV fairly late into the evening. Light breakfast of bread and jam, coffee and juice was served each morning.
With the windows open fully you could hear the local dogs barking and chickens but we found this on all the islands we visited and was not noticeable after a while.
It was a short walk into the town centre shops and restaurants, and there was a small market 5 mins in the other direction.

For the location we thought this was a reasonable place to stay while we looked around town.

This place should definately be avoided! It´s very overpriced, if you pay a bit more for the luxury resorts like Sofitel you get MUCH more for your money. The rooms are dirty, the location doesn´t feel safe and there are noise from neigbouring chicken and barking dogs all night.

The shared bathroom is dirty and bed sheets feel disgusting. Service is very poor and they only speak french. We didn´t meet any tourists here, only relatives sitting watching TV the hole day (not friendly) probably with help from what you pay for the room. Stay away!
