We booked this small hotel on the Intranet after an extensive search of suitabl;e accommodation for our family (a 2yr old boy and two girls aged 11 and 14). We suspected that we had discovered a little gem and we were proved correct. Even before we arived we had a good feeling about it, as the staff went out of their way to accommodate us all in a family room and notified us by e-mail. When we arrived we were made very welcome and offered courtesy drinks before our room was prepared. Throughout our week long stay the staff were very hospitable and everyone made a special fuss of our two year old boy. Nothing was too much trouble; when our youngest stayed asleep and missed dinner food was prepared for him in case he woke up in the early hours hungry - he subsequently did and we were able to feed him so he could go back off to sleep. On the same note all the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. There are lots of sightseeing opportunities within the vicinity and the lagoon oppoosite the Inn is excellent for spotting tropical fish and this was one of the highlights of our stay.

During our last evening a family table was reserved for us in one of the best positions in the restaurant without us having to ask. This is another small point of detail but they make all the difference to the quality of your stay. I would summarise the Beddarra Beach Inn as offering the quality of much more exclusive accommodation at a fraction of the cost. We walked around the nearby Outrigger on the lagoon resort which was good in its own right but it was huge and felt impersonal, we knew we had made the right choice. We can't wait to return and meet all the staff again and see some more of wonderful Fifi - hopefully this will be in 2014.

Thanks for making this part of our holiday so special.

Peter and Julie Barker and family.

My partner and I stayed 7 nights at Berdarra in late November and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The greeting we received was great and we were made to feel at home from the moment we stepped off the bus. Although small, Bedarra was big on friendliness and the staff were so thoughtful and genuine about how comfortable we were and how our stay was going. We dined most nights at the restaurant and the food was not only well priced but extremely well presented and tasty. We were always greeted be our first names and staff were always wanting to assist us if we had any queries. I must make special mention of the band, Roy, Elizabeth and Thomasi who were so welcoming and warm. Thanks especially for the opportunity to play guitar with you most nights, it was great fun. We didn't miss TV during our stay, we found the lack of one assisted our escape from the daily grind. We stayed in the Deluxe room and found it more than big enough for the two of us, the air conditioning was great and the rooms were always clean and fresh when we returned from a day out. Having the outrigger close by was handy and also the small convenience stores that we found nearby. The pool was smaller than we thought but the size was ample considering the amount of rooms. Overall we found the location of Bedarra quite good especially seeing as Singatoka was only a short 10 minute taxi ride away. Also, the selection of day tours was plentiful, but needed a specialist tour advisor to help. In closing, the peace and quiet we felt when staying at this intimate hotel will stay with us in our hearts and minds for years to come. Thankyou to all at Bedarra beach Inn, hope to see you again in the near future.

My husband and I recently returned from Fiji after booking a week’s holiday at short notice in Bedarra Beach Inn. What a great find!! We were after some quiet time before Christmas, something away from the larger chain resort, and in a location that offered something lovely to look at, where the biggest decisions of the day were which cocktail to drink that evening and what to order off the menu; this was exactly what we got. What was surprising was the quality of the resort and staff, and the value for money.
The rooms are large with a small fridge, table and two chairs, a sofa, full size wardrobe and an enormous very comfortable king size bed. The air conditioner was quiet and very efficient offering a cool haven after an exhausting day relaxing in the Fijian warmth outside. Our room was on the ground floor and there was also a small veranda if we chose to sit outside. The bathroom was equally spacious, comfortably appointed and immaculately clean.
We stayed a week and could not fault the resort in any way. Unfortunately there was a family from America, who initially did not value the serenity of this place as much as we did, but thankfully management were on to this very quickly and the peaceful quiet was returned. This place is not for those needing organised activities, kids clubs or wanting an action packed holiday destination. Whilst there is opportunity to organise various activities available at the front desk we were happy to sit under the shade of the palm trees with a gentle sea breeze blowing, paddle in the sea water (as even at high tide the water level is only just above your knees) and swim in the small pool. An enterprising local family provides opportunity for horse rides up the beach which my husband enjoyed. The Inn is located close to Sigatoka with a local taxi costing about FD$7-8 each way for those wanting some tourist shopping or having a look around town.
The restaurant is located on the balcony of the resort’s main building looking out to the ocean so beautiful sunsets create the backdrop to your evening meal. The restaurant staff are attentive without being 'in-your-face' and make a point of knowing your name after just one or two meals. We were greeted so warmly on every occasion it was easy to feel like a very special guest. This service combined with the skilled chef and kitchen staff makes every meal a wonderful experience with reasonably priced generous servings. We can truthfully say that we did not have one bad dining experience whilst we were there; everything is fresh and if required the chef can accommodate most meals to your individual tastes. We ordered the lobster on our last night and were not at all disappointed; beautifully fresh and cooked to perfection. The word about the quality of restaurant is obviously starting to get out as every night people from nearby resorts, including the Outrigger, would come to dinner.
Adding to the evening dining experience was the wonderful band made up of two guitars, one ukulele and three amazing voices! Elizabeth, Koroi and Thomas! Those in the restaurant around 7pm every night except Sunday would be individually serenaded and when it was your last night your table were sung their version of the traditional farewell song 'Isa Lei'; very moving indeed! Being frequent travellers to Fiji this little gem is definitely a find for us and we are already planning our return trip for this year; we almost did not write this review as we wanted to keep this place a secret.

I booked this hotel based on the great reviews from here. I was shocked to find the beach outside the hotel is horrible. You can't swim in the beach, it's rocky. Although it is true it's next to a the outrigger hotel, they have the beach fenced off, so I'd imagine they got the good beach.

The food and hotel rooms were fine, but I don't go on holidays for that, I want a nice beach. If you want to go to the beach, diving, snorkling then Bedarra is not for you

This hotel is an absolute hidden Gem and whilst I hope for it's owners and staff it has 100% occupancy all the time, for my sake I hope it stays just the way it is......quiet, relaxed, wonderful, friendly and PERFECT. I arrived at Bedarra absolutely strung out and totally sleep deprived......from the first greeting late at night by Jinten, that included supper for me, to the final good bye the staff could not have been friendlier, nicer or more accommodating. My room was huge, spotless and had a fabulous view - I started and ended everyday on that balcony looking at the ocean. The bed was very comfy, there was fresh milk in your room everyday for tea and coffee, iced water in the fridge, big cakes of soap, proper lounge chairs, great aircon, NO TV, NO PHONES and total peace.
The pool whilst small was great, with a ledge all around that you could sit or lay in the water on, drinks, food everything was bought to you at the pool or across the road at the beach if you wanted. It was gorgeous to be able to sit in peace looking out at the ocean with no crowds or noise. You could walk for miles up and down the beach, lots of little eateries nearby, plus the big Outrigger next door which is worth a visit as their gardens are lovely. I had every meal bar one at the Bedarra and the food is second to none, served all day and excellent value for money. Imagine getting warm, freshly baked on the premises bread rolls complimentary with your meal!!!!!
The Bedarra Bar is a great meeting place and the cocktails are to die for.......yummo. The nightly singing is beautiful and there is a small library of books available if you get through all the books you bring.
I would not recommend the Bedarra for families with a large gagle of kids who need to be kept busy and occupied. But if you need to RELAX, RELAX, RELAX then you can't go past the Bedarra. Many Thanks Everyone, I will b e back sooner than later.
