Just spent the most wonderful 7 days at the resort, with approximately 40 family and friends for my daughter's wedding. We were all very happy with the package that we received, only one of our group had a smaller room,( with their 2 little children in it...the bride and groom)...everyone else's rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious. The food was value! Fresh salads accompany the very good meals, and apparently the steaks were great...I ate fish for 7 days. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the childcare nannies were the BEST! Beware of the pool slide...a bit scary for larger people coming out, due to the sharp turn at the end. The wedding was faultless, so different, and we had the local choir from the village singing. All in all, I totally enjoyed my time there and WILL be back!.

Room Tip: The rooms at back can hear the traffic from the road, though it wasn't heavy at night.

My husband, patents and myself come here for 7 nights we got the all inclusive package. It was a holiday that we will never forget !! Everything about it was awesome, service was second to none. The only thing I would say is DON'T book your holiday through my Fiji they overcharged my parents and still have not revived the funds back then to find out that they had canceled there room 3 days before we got there !!! The staff were more than helpfull with the situation. Just remember when u go to Fiji u r on there time;)

stayed here in June 2011. Meant to do this review ages ago. Absolutely loved this place. You really feel like you are on a Pacific Island far away from the hustle & bustle of modern day city life. Would definitely love to return. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: We were not right on the beach but the bures are located in between each other so that you get a gli...

We spent a wonderful 10 nights at Hideway in Feb 2012. Being regular traveller to Fiji-we know what to expect--its all about "Fiji time" !!
Hideaway is a terrific little resort. It has a real Fijian feel--you get to know the staff and other patrons--not like the huge resorts where-though they are beautiful--you could be anywhere in the world.
i will try and be methodical in my review--I know its helpful when previous travellers give their tips.

FOOD
food was fantastic. Plentiful and good quality. We were on the all inclusive--but although it was nice not to have to worry about the cost--we did eat a lot more than we would normally!! So I guess you need to work out how much it would cost if not on the plan and decide from there. Service at lunch time always seemed to be slow--so be prepared--dont go in until the first 12.00 rush is over!! We waited almost an hour on several occaisons. dinner was much quicker.
A hint if you are not on the all inclusive--stop at Sigatoka on the way in and stock up on drinks/nibbles at the supermarket--much cheaper. We always buy duty free grog on the way in. also if you are a beer drinker--the Fiji Bitter stubbies at the supermarket are about $2.00!!

ROOMS
we were in a Deluxe Beachfront Bure--very nice. to wake up in the morning and be able to lie in bed and look straight out at the water was wonderful. Outdoor shower was very nice. Only complaint was that there is not enough drawer space and not enough hooks/towel rails for wet towels/ bathers etc.
The Frangipani Bures are older and further from the beachfront--but you dont spend a lot of time in your room--so if you want a cheaper option--this may be the go.
Our AC was not very cold and leaking when we arrived and was repaired very promptly when we let the front desk know.
There is no TV or radio-so take plenty of books and if you want movies-your laptop. Wifi is available at $20 FJ (about $10 AUD) per day-or they have a computor room.
We too had cigarettes taken from the table out the front-as another post mentioned. We did let management know-but be warned!!

ACTIVITIES
The activities staff are fantastic!! There are things organised for every day. Aqua Gym and pool volleyball are a daily event and great fun. I went on a walk through the grounds with Skipper-the head gardener which was interesting. there are also village tours, snorkelling and glass bottom boat trips. Every night at Happy Hour-there are games-a great way to meet other holiday makers. To be able to snorkle straight off the beach is great--the coral is a bit bleached-but there are some beautiful fish to see.
Pool is nice-but i imagine it would be crowded when the resort is full. We had no trouble getting a pool lounge--but some people are a bit rude and reserve one and then dissapear for hours--not good, again maybe a problem when the resort is full. You can swim at the beach at high tide though.

SPA
My husband and I both had a massage--$95FJ for 50 mins. Very nice!! didnt have any other treatments--but I saw a lot of nicely painted nails!!

Day TRIPS
We did a day trip to Robinson Crursoe Island-good value at $180 AUD for 2 people. This island is in the lagoon near Natadola Beach-so while the water id nice--its not the amazing clear water from the outer islands. Snorkelling was good and the entertainment was fun. My husband had a massage-$17 AUD for 30 mins.
We also took a car into Sigatoka-but if you are after good duty free-yo need to go to Nadi or Suva. there is a craft market at the general market-but it doesnt operate every day-so check before you go in. We stopped in at Bavari Handcrafts-which is not far from the resort-they have a good range at reasonable prices.

BOTTOM LINE
If you are after a relaxed, quiet holiday-this place is great. If you are wanting night life or want to do more things away from the resort--somewhere closer to Nadi would be better.
But for us--it is ideal. somewhere to recharge the batteries and chill out.

My partner and I stayed in a Beachfront Villa for one night on 10 March. The villa was beautiful and we particularly liked the "Bula Welcome" message on our bed made with flowers and leaves. The kingsize bed was extremely comfortable, as were the pillows, making for an excellent night's sleep. The bathrooms were of a very generous size, allowing 2 people to shower at the same time. We also had an outside shower over a small pool, which was lovely. The outlook was beautiful straight out to the beach, lagoon, surf break.

The food was good quality, although we only experienced the Asian buffet and breakfast buffet.

The pool, restaurant, bar areas were all very attractive.

The only thing we were disappointed in was the service at the bar and restaurant where they were very much on "Fiji time". We ordered some wedges from the bar which still hadn't arrived 1 hour later - after reminding the staff, they said they had forgotten to place the order. It was also a lengthy wait at the bar to get a drink. Check-in and check-out was also a bit slow.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: We had a beachfront villa well away from the activities. It was quiet, fantastic view, modern, clea...
