“Great Teppanyaki”
Reviewed 20 May 2012

We always eat at Daikoku when we overnight in Martintar as we love the quality of their food -- it's light and tasty with a lot of options on the menu.

We usually order the mixed seafood selection -- miso soup, and then the teppanyaki starts --- the scallop to begin with is fantastic, don't know what they put on top of it, but it's worth going just to taste that dish.....

Fresh fruit to finish with tops the meal off.

I rang from Sydney to book ahead this time as they were booked out on our last visit in January.

Thank you very much for dining at Daikoku restaurant. The sauce you mention must be "Home-made Mayonnaise sauce" which is called "Yum Yum sauce". That goes with Prawn, not with scallops.. Anyway, Nadi shop hardly booked out though, it might be better idea for you to make a reservation during Holiday season or Festive season.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 17 May 2012

I always go to this restaurant in both Suva and Nadi for good food but this time I was so very disappointed. We ordered the Sushi C selection. For being the most expensive sushi selection we were shocked that all the slices of sushi were salmon and egg, their was no tuna. Sadly the salmon tasted off. The only thing that was good was COLD Soba noodles. Also, numerous bugs were flying about in the restaurant.

Thank you very much for dining at Daikoku and your patronage. No excuse on your comment, we will try to keep enough stock of tuna somehow.

Thank you very much for your patronage and your valuable opinion. It is true that some guests may get board because nothing new are here. Although we have been trying not to make major change for over years because restaurant staffs do not stay at one place in Fiji, and not so many variety of food materials are available in Fiji. But we will try to introduce something Japanese and something new in Fiji.

Another regular haunt for me - a great restaurant, great service and devine food. Ask for the table with the 'new japanese chef'. Will be back soon - maybe this weekend

“Very good raw fish adn tempura”
Reviewed 22 April 2012

The sushi and sashimi were very good, as well as the tempura. There is also a decent selection of sake. The service is what you'd expect from the friendly and warm Fijian people.

Thank you very much for dining at Daikoku and your review. Although it is difficult to get fresh fish regularly in Fiji, our Tuna and Snapper are always fresh and never frozen.
