“Excellent Tradition continues”

Toshi Restaurante Nikkei
Ranked #146 of 3,278 Restaurants in Lima
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: USD 20 - USD 50
Description: The gastronomic proposal designed by Toshiro Konishi (1953-2016), the most influential itamae of Peruvian cuisine, focuses on two fundamental principles: on the one hand, the delicate selection and deep knowledge of each of the Peruvian inputs that are used (nobody knew our sea like Toshiro and nobody better prepared than the team he directed); on the other, the encounter between the technical skill required by traditional Japanese food and the creative freshness enjoyed by modern Western cuisine. The design of the spaces has been designed so that the experience in Toshi is warm and enjoyable. For a family or professional gastronomic experience that makes a difference, Toshi is the most genuine and original proposal of Japanese cuisine and Nikkei.

During a recent family visit we had lunch at Toshi and were treated to delicious meal. We started with the "choncha de abanico" which was a next to perfect amalgam of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine. Next we had a couple of maki rolls which seemed at first glance very simple but surprised by the depth of different flavors. As main dish we shared the arroz con pato, a Japanese interpretation of a Peruvian classic dish, basically maigret de canard on top of cilantro rice, simply outstanding. We concluded this sumptuous meal with arroz con leche, again a simple dish with many surprising flavors.

And I certainly don't want to forget to mention that the wait staff was always friendly and very attentive.

We will certainly go back there and explore more of this great restaurant.

We wanted to eat Japanese food since we got in Lima. We were not sure which restaurant was the best option and we picked Toshi. It was everything that we expected, great service, good ambiance and stunning rolls. We had the three rolls and a ceviche. The Oishii roll was so good that we decided to have one as a dessert!
Totally recommended

Toshi offers great food and drinks and a decent atmosphere. When they have special deals on, they are even competitively priced. So in general it’s worth going.

However, the competition in Lima is tough, so they are probably not top in class when it comes to the service (which is a little disorganized).

Really enjoyed my meal here. Nice ceviche, and I had their take on the Arroz con Pato - beautifully presented and cooked duck with rice. Drinks were pretty good.

High quality food, fair prices for what you get. Drinks and cocktails are awesome and on Mondays and Tuesdays you get a 50% off on all makis! The terrace is nice and cozy. Decoration is minimalistic and they care about details. Service is pretty good and polite. Quality is far away from other Nikkei restaurants in Lima.
