A good option in Cusco

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Apr 2023
A very nice option when staying in Cusco. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The service is excellent. Everyone who worked there went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We greatly appreciated that they made a room available to us when we arrived early. The hotel has great views of the city. It is a relatively short walk (downhill) to Plaza de Armas. We opted to take a taxi back to the hotel each time (about S10). If we are lucky enough to visit Cusco again, we will stay at the Hilton again.

Our trip to Peru was topped with a most fantastic stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Cusco as a part of our Inka trail hike travel plans. For my regular work, I have the benefit of staying at multiple Hilton locations on a regular basis that has elevated me to Diamond status but I have not previously experienced this level of service we were presented with on this trip. A week before we arrived, we received an email from Jorge with the front desk upgrading our room to a suite unprompted without requesting it and he also offered up and arranged an airport transfer for us ready for when we arrived. On the day of arrival, a taxi was waiting for us and Santiago our driver made us feel very welcome, was very polite and gave us many tips for the city to enhance our stay. Onsite, Erich at the front desk helped us multiple times with arranging details on our stay and always chatted with us about our experiences in the city and our excursions.

In the restaurant, Luis, Estephany and especially Alfredo were welcoming and catered to our every need. The full spread breakfast buffet was delicious, fresh, clean and offered all kinds of healthy options. The chefs did an amazing job each day with the omelets and hot items. The made to order waffles Alfredo brought us with in house made syrup were some of the best we have ever had. I especially appreciated the Hilton honors cookies with berry sauce that were served to us each day. We must give credit to Hugo the dining room supervisor for the team that he leads and the high level of expectations he has for the service. It was very clear that he coached his team well to ensure a superior dining experience for all the guests including ourselves.

Each day of our stay we finished the day off in the bar lounge with Nahum and Carlos reflecting on our adventures and learning.

about all the great drinks and experiences that Cusco has to offer. For us, this truly was the best part of our stay. Nahum and Carlos taught us all about the history and varieties of the national drink Pisco and how to make Pisco Sours. They prepared for us top shelf drinks and cocktails and Nahum gave us premium recommendations for places to see and things to do while we were in Cusco that we completed each day and then would discuss the following evening. With Nahum and Carlos, we came as guests, and we left as friends. Gracias Nahum and Carlos!

During our stay, our bed was very comfortable, our room was spotless, and the cleaning staff prepared multiple gestures that really made us feel welcome. On the second day they created a beautiful stone display on the bed of Machu Picchu.

As a result of the superb service, we experienced during our initial stay, we decided to book an additional night on our

return from our 4 day hike on the Inka trail. As a result, we canceled our booking we had previously at another hotel and we booked an additional night at the Hilton instead. For this return trip, we also booked a couple's massage and wrap at the Meraki Spa and Isabel and Katty did an amazing job working out all of our aches and pains from our 4 day hike.

Generally speaking, our room was comfortable and spacious, the hotel was well laid out, clean and well managed. We felt safe at all times in the hotel and the city itself. The location offers great views of the city and is only about a ten-minute walk down to the main square, restaurants and markets. One added bonus for us was that this hotel is on the road that leads to Machu Picchu, so it ended up giving us extra time to sleep in while the tour company picked everyone else up first.

Overall, this Hilton location and experience is the best I have experienced in the chain, and I would highly recommend it for any Cusco adventures in your plans. Thank you to all of the staff that made our experience a truly unforgettable adventure! Mucho Gracias!

Room tip: Stop by the bar in the evening and chat with Nahum and Carlos.

We loved this hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms are clean with a gorgeous garden outside and there are fun events during the evening such as pizza making for kids and cocktail making for adults. The staff were all professional and friendly too. Everything you’d expect from a Hilton and more 😊

We have travelled and stayed at many Hilton and non-Hilton hotels before. And this has to be one of the best. We stayed for 2 nights and then a 3 night stay with a break when we went to Machu Picchu and stayed closer to the site. The entire staff from front desk, doorman, bell boy, security, breakfast restaurant staff went way above what was expected. Both times we got upgraded to a room with a view as wife is a Diamond member. We were on the same floor (1) as the reception. One of the best things about the hotel is they have washer/dryer which you can but as package which comes with detergent. Breakfast was fabulous with a huge variety. My wife and daughter are vegans and restaurant manager PRISKA made sure they are covered. She remembered our names and requests each time and served us well including boxes when my daughter couldn't come down for breakfast. Breakfast also opens early at 5 am which is rare so folks who are on early tours can grab a to-go packet. You can walk or take a taxi for around s/8 one way to the plaza /center of city. If you want to buy snacks/drinks/ ATM/ money exchange you should walk right to the spot where the steps going down are located. Walk down the steps and you will find all what is needed.

Great job Hilton GI Cusco !! Highly recommended.

This hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the central plaza, and has a beautiful view of Cusco and the mountains. Very friendly front desk staff. Rooms are large, well equipped and modern. Beautiful views from the terrace and restaurant. Will definitely look forward to staying here again and will be back there in a week.
