“Just a wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2012

We stayed here twice during our trip in Cusco for a total of 3 nights.

We were a group of four and stayed in the room Pieter, which is off the main street. Some people complain that it's noisy but we are from NYC so we didn't even notice.

The room was quite large and offered us the most space out of any place we stayed in the Sacred Valley. It was also very clean. The courtyard is also pretty. Our only complaint would be that the wifi was funky and the shower curtain didn't keep the water where it should be.

The food is good--breakfast is not included but was quite good. The coca tea was made from fresh leaves and was the best we had in Peru.

The staff is really friendly and found us a great taxi driver/guide to drive us to Pisac. Ask for Marino (such a nice guy).

In addition, all proceeded go to a good cause.

I would recommend this place to anyone in Cusco and would gladly stay there again.

Ninos hotel was the perfect place to acclimate and explore Cuzco. The staff was very professional, attentive, and helpful. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and relaxing after exploring the city and the Sacred Valley. The courtyard was perfect for chilling out and having breakfast or tea/coffee and the food at the restaurant was delicious. This place is a true gem and the program to help the children is priceless! I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Higher floors have no one above you and offers great views of the courtyard.

We stayed at the Ninos Hotel for three nights in January and had a great time. The hotel was nice for the money. The room was basic, but very clean. We always had nice water pressure and hot water (a luxury in some Peruvian hotels). The pretty courtyard was a great place to take an afternoon break and enjoy the sunshine. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and the food at the little restaurant was good, too. To top it off, the kids of Cusco benefit!

Good value, really nice food, good coffee, well-trained staff and extremely friendly and warm atmosphere. Double win to support the Ninos projects as well.

Ninos Hotel lived up to it's reviews. The hotel staff was very friendly. We later found out that the hotel was run by individuals who benefited from the Ninos project. In fact, we also discovered that one of our cab drivers was one of the original children adopted by the owner. Staying at Ninos Hotel you can see how much the money generated by the hotel helps the people of Cusco. It feels wonderful to be a part of that.
In addition to helping a good cause Ninos Hotel is simply a GREAT place to stay. The food was good (especially the pumpkin soup!). Breakfast was cheap and plentiful. The hotel was located within walking distance of San Blas, the market, the main square, shopping, restaurants, the hike up to Sacsayhuaman... nearly everything. The decor/furnishings are modest clean and comfortable. This is not a luxury spot but you will have everything you need. It's bright cheerful and welcoming.
The courtyard in the center of the hotel was a great hangout spot. It's wonderful to have an alternative to sitting in the room while waiting for people to get ready in the morning and they provided books/magazines on loan. It was fun to chat with other travels in this common space as well.
I've heard people mention safety concerns while walking in the neighborhood but we had no problems at all. None of us ever felt threatened or uncomfortable. The street the hotel is on isn't "nice" by any definition, nor are the surrounding blocks, but... unsafe? No. As with anywhere else you travel use common sense. I wouldn't have returned to the hotel on foot after 10PM but that's true of many places.
If I visit Cusco again I will stay at Ninos Hotel. I wish them all the best!

Room Tip: Be sure to bring the street map the hotel provides with you because many cab drivers had difficulty...
