We were welcomed to the restaurant by a doorman at the street and shown into the restaurant. It was quiet and serene. Since there were few other patrons, service was prompt. We ordered the almuerzo (fixed menu lunch). The first course was a generous bowl of a tasty chicken soup with chunks of carrots and potatoes and a glass of lemonade . The main course consisted of a mound of rice, several delicious fried potato wedges, a salad of tomatoes, carrots, and green pepper, and a bowl of very nice mild beef curry. The dessert course was a small bowl of carrot halwa. We had never tasted halwa before and were very impressed! Overall, a pleasant atmosphere and excellent food.

Went to this restaurant many times last year for lunch and breakfast was very good. However things have changed and not for the the better. first Frank one of the best waiters in Cuenca is gone totally changes the atmosphere. Went there today for breakfast almost inedible eggs Benedict no bacon muffin not toasted eggs not cooked. won't be back.

Although I could only have the juice on the grand opening day when Domesan had samples of food, my husband ate the samples and said they were very low quality. The nacho chips were terrible with store-bought guacamole, and the "enchilada" sample (or was it "posole") was aweful. Much worse than Taco Bell.

That said, maybe their regular food will be okay. We will not, however, be returning to find out, as there are much better options for more authentic Mexican food in the city, including my own kitchen.

My wife and I have eaten (and reviewed) Domesan previously last February and consequently did not hesitate to return. The breakfast food is very good and presented well. They have an omelette bar with 9 items to select from. The bacon is not lke back in North America - it is so much better and meatier! My request for my eggs to be done medium saw the eggs presented sunny side up, but that can happen anywhere and frequently does in chain restaurants in NA. Overall, Domesan is a good choice for breakfast.

This hotel is very misleading in their advertising. We reserved a room for 3 nights with Booking.com. The total price was $73 and change plus (according to their website and tripadvisor) there would be a $5.00 per day parking fee. On the second day we went to their recommended parking garage to get something from our vehicle and was informed we owed $15 more. Turned out the $5 fee is overnight parking and there is a $15 fee for the day. This makes it $20 fee for parking for a 24 hour period. We went to check out and was told, by the owner, that we owed $116 for the 2 nights we stayed there. I would not recommend this hotel to any gringo since they will rip you off.
