The Bookshop is one of the nicest places in Quito to visit. Quaint, and a haven full of best-selling authours as well as rarities as well as the best customer service and charm available in the area. Thank you Mark!

It's always like visiting a friend when you come across a shop that sells books in your native language.

What a great selection of books and lovely owner. We had great 30 minutes chat about life in general. It is more like community centre. Prices of books are fair. From 4 dollars you can get great book or trade yours. Hugely recommend. PS. We will say Hello to Essex (owner is from Essex)

The English Bookshop is centrally located in the Mariscal (the tourist center of Quito where you find lots of Hostals, restaurants and bars) and offers a wonderful selection of second hand books (english, french, german and spanish). The owner Mark helps you with recommendations or finding whatever you are looking for. The English Bookshop is also a meeting point for some truly interesting expats ;) and you might find yourself having fun conversations accompanied by a cup of good english tea offered by Mark. For me (I live and work in Ecuador) Mark's Bookshop is a great place to relax, a true Oasis in the buzzing Mariscal, and I always find a good book! Totally recommended as part of your Quito/Ecuador experience!
