“Best location in Quito. Can't fault too many things.”
Reviewed 14 March 2012 via mobile

We arrived a day late due to transport issues. The room we booked was no longer available but we were moved to a 2 bedroom room with 1 queen, 1 double and 1 single bed(Room 201). A bit more than what was needed for a couple but certainly not an issue. The first night it seemed a little noisy but we had left one of the windows open slightly. The other nights we had this resolved. The view from the breakfast room on the 4th floor is great. Bring a camera. Wifi worked absolutely fine in our room the whole time we were here(3 days). There are also two computers in the common area in the rear of the hotel that provide free Internet but only one works. There is also tea, coffee and drinking water available at all times in this area. Front desk staff were always very helpful. Laundry will cost 1USD p/pound. Some laundries charge $1usd p/kilo but we weren't phased by the extra cost as it is still cheap and yet much more convenient. Hot water in this room is definitely questionable. Even with the hot turned completely on and cold completely off we were still sometimes getting a low pressured lukewarm shower from the start. Generally it worked alright though. This hotel is within walking distance of all the major sights in old town and two blocks from the main plaza. Very safe with tonnes of police presence on the streets at all times who are also more than willing to assist you if you need any help.

We stayed at the Boutique Plaza Sucre in Feb. 2012 for 6 days. The hotel is in the downtown central area, a few blocks from the main plaza. Several of the nearby streets have been turned into walking malls and were very pleasant with small shops and eating establishments all around. The 4 story hotel (4th floor is the breakfast area) has a large lobby as well as a reading/internet lounge. Both wired and wi-fi connectivity are included with the room rate. We paid $50/night for a double room, including breakfast, all taxes and fees. The room was about motel 6 size, but comfortable and looked out over the indoor courtyard. Room service was daily and bottled water was provided, as well as a room safe. For added security the main hotel entrance had a locked gate with security camera. The doorbell alerted the front desk to let someone in. There was artwork on the lobby walls and many craft items around. The hotel presented very well. The front desk personnel all spoke English and were very helpful in requesting transportation (taxis for us). Laundry service is available for a small charge. The taxi ride from the airport took about 30 minutes, depending on time of day. All drivers seemed to know just where the hotel was. At night the fare was $15; $10 during the day. We used either the taxi booth at the airport or requested a taxi from the front desk and were satisfied with safety and service. By the way, at night, red lights are a suggestion.

While we were always at a comfortable room temperature during our stay, I did not see any heat or cooling controls in the room. I considered the possibility that there were none. We made our reservations online and found all the hotel information to be accurate, including quoted rates.

I stayed in room 206 for 2 nights and have to say you'd better bring earplugs - the voices from the lobby carry, and there was an awful 'ticking' sound somwhere in the walls that was just unrelenting. The staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English, and the location is hard to beat - in the heart of the Old Town, within easy walking distance to all the major sights.
The free wi-fi was more than iffy, it rarely worked. Thank goodness for the 2 hotel computers. Breakfast on the 4th floor was adequate, with fresh fruit and juices, eggs and toast, cereals, and a spectacular view of La Panecilla. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, as a single traveler, I felt very well taken care of and welcomed by the hotel.

Me and my wife stayed there for couple nights, located in the heart of "Quito Colonial".
If you want to know more of the history of Quito you are in the right place... a walking distance from museums, La Ronda, el Panecillo, Presidential Palace, Churches, etc it will keep you entertain for a couple days.. it is safer at night (lots of Police and military presence). And Don't forget to visit El TeleferiQo and the of the World (taxis are really cheap!).. What you will not find it's a really nice place to eat there.. so you might want to go to the Modern Quito or ask the locals for instructions how to get there, or a good restaurant nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for the double room in the 3rd floor!

Booked with BOOKING.COM via TripAdvisor but told no rooms available when I turned up at the hotel reception desk. Had to drag luggage to a nearby hotel owned by the group and told to return to Hotel Boutique Plaza Sucre for breakfast (?!). But with no assurance of a different room rate at the much lower standard alternate hotel ("We will check in the morning"), decided to cut all ties with Hotel Boutique Plaza Sucre.
