“Busy market area”
Review of Barrio Patronato

Just outside the metro of Patronato is an area which sells mostly women clothing, many small shops and market stalls set up along the street, with places to eat along the way.

It can be really busy depending on when you go - especially if the school kids have finished classes or are on break. Many stalls have specials - but please remember it is fake - but everything is reasonably priced - so if you need clothes I would recommend this area.

This area apparently was one of the major trade hubs in Santiago... this is not a high end neighborhood, but it’s nice to walk around there.. lots of cheap cloths, not necessary to buy though .. you find many restaurants that serve arabic food like shawerma and falafel

One of my favourite vegetarian restaurants in Santiago, Katako offers not only the best seitán and chorrillanas I've ever tried in a restaurant, but also the place is lovely, mainly made of wood, from the furniture to the floor. It all looked clean and well mantained, but I say it again that the taste of the food is definitely worth a visit. The price is moderate and even cheap if we consider some of the dishes are made to share it between 2 or more people. However, there you can choose between some sandwiches and burguers There are also some vegan desserts that I haven't tried yet, but these looked inviting too. At lunch time during the week is very busy so you should get there earlier or may be later than that time.

A wonderful place to shop clothes and cheap jewelry as well as having some yummy mid-eastern and Asian food. Palestinian, Korean and Chinese communities are great influencers of this neighborhood full of commercial activities and exotic dishes. Close to "La Vega", is a must visit place in Santiago because is easy to access (plenty of public transportation options to get here), cheap and most importantly, a guarantee to save some money when shopping.

This is a great area to buy clothes for a good price. Lots of stores, mostly with women's clothing, and a nice area to walk around for a while even if you prefer window shopping. If you aren't familiar with this sort of thing, most of the name-brand shoes are fakes. Everything is labeled "liquidación" so know that a sale isn't necessarily a sale.
