We stayed twice here - the first time in their "B&B" section. The room was very nice and large, and the bathrooms were clean. However, it was VERY COLD in the winter time and the two space heaters they had were out of gas and not functioning. In the bed, there was an electric blanket, but otherwise, it was typically colder in the hostel than it was outside.

The second time we were in their suite section - which is a very small room with no closet or dresser, but you do have your own bathroom. You'll be cramped, but everything is very nice. These rooms were not as chilly as the first one we stayed in

Breakfast is good, but not very imaginative and you may not last till lunch without getting a snack. The front desk was very helpful though at all times - make sure you talk with them if you have any questions or want ideas of what to check out!

This was a good deal for the money - just remember, you are staying in a hostel, not a hotel!

Cons:
1. very, very cold room. The thing that is supposed to be a heating is not doing its job. Not a good place to stay in winter. The temperature in the room was just like the one outside, it might be due to the gap between the door and floor, but who knows. In general the coldest two nights in my life. Be prepared to sleep in sweaters and with the hat on, but you will still wake up with the cold face. Sorry, but this is unacceptable when the hostel claims to have a heating I assume it will work and make the room warm.
2. Don't order a taxi to the airport through the hotel. If you go with the taxi cough on the street and taximeter, it will be 13.000 pesos, with the hostel it's 18.000 pesos.

Pros:
1. Helpful and nice staff
2. The rooms are very nice ( superior suites) but very cold in winter.
3, Quite nice location
4, breakfast was decent

We wish we had booked this place first as we had been terribly let down by some other appartment/hotel booked on booking.com costing us $200USD and no room. We've learned Those apart/hotels are not paying legal fees and are not registered to any standard hotelier programs like hotel, hostels & B&B. See my other reviews. Anyway we arrived after finding some availability at the Bellas 269 through hostelworld.com and Cathy who speaks English fluently was here to welcome us so well and just made the day brighting up a bit after the worst 24h we've had in South America. The double room are ensuites are all brand new at hostel price. Location is brilliant you are at walkable distance to the main central attraction in santiago's city centre. The wifi is really good everywhere, the bedding is new and really comfortable and the shower the best. Can't fault anything! Brilliant place and people! Thank you so much Cathy, carlos & team.

This is such a nice place to stay. All of the staff was so genuine, helpful and truly friendly. They made our stay so much more memorable. The hostel is very tastefully done. The FREE breakfast was very nice. The rooms are clean. We stayed in a suite. They are small but cozy and sufficient for what we needed. FREE computer/internet use and wifi is a plus. The location of this hostel was perfect and quiet. It's right on the border of the two most popular towns and in walking distance of Patio Bellavista, museums and main plaza. I would definitely recommend this place.

I stayed in this hostel with some friends. I was pleasantly surprised. Very eclectic and great location. It's close to the train and in a nice neighborhood, and walking distance to main attractions. There is also a supermarket literally next door which is very convenient.
The rooms are comfortable. I stayed in 3 different types of rooms, including the dorms and the new building. All are comfortable, and nice comfy beds. I suggested to put some hooks on the walls to hang clothes and put your toiletries as there are none at the moment.

The people at the hostal are very nice. Joseph works at night and is great! He is attentive, and just a nice guy. Kathy works in the day and is such a doll. She gives you great tips and is just helpful. I felt like at home. I travelled around Santiago, so came back to the hotel because we were treated very well. I never experienced any noise in the hostel at all. The breakfast is very basic but good enough to get the day started. I strongly recommend staying here.

Room tip: If you are a couple, ask for rooms in the new building. They are a little more expensive but worth it.
