Hotel staff extremely nice. Clean establishment with a wonderful view of lake and very close to city center. We had some difficulty driving to location since the entrance is behind hotel. Hotel restaurant was great for breakfast but I suggest going out for other meals. Food in restaurant is ok but there are better restaurants in walking distance. The Friday night we spent at hotel there was very loud music in lobby so maybe check on that if you book for the weekend and get a room as far from lobby as possible. The hotel store selling local crafts is very nice and the hand knit children sweaters are adorable.

I stayed at Hotel Cumbres for two nights with my family during a trip to Chile's lake region. The hotel had impeccable service, wonderfully appointed rooms and an unbeatable location with unrestricted view of Volcan Osorno.

The bar and restaurant on Level 1 was reasonably priced with great indoor and outdoor seating. The included breakfast was outstanding with a great selection of different types of local cheeses, made-to-order coffees and eggs, juices, cold cuts, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt etc.

What made this hotel memorable for us was the excellent service, Everyone at the the front desk spoke English (not an expected requirement in a Spanish speaking country but definitely helpful while getting recommendations and directions) and were always willing to provide great information on the area attractions, restaurant recommendations etc. They were also well-informed.

The rooms were modern with a beautiful view of the lake and volcanoes across the lake. We did not use the pool but the hotel does have a heated pool. They also offered a free business center with computers and a printer.

Overall- highly recommended for a visit to Puerto Varas.

Room tip: Get any room facing the lake

This was the third stop on our family trip to Chile, and a base from which we hiked, toured local towns and went whitewater rafting. The hotel was fine for that-- but do not think of it as a destination itself; the restaurant is perfunctory (buffet breakfast and group dinners). The view from the rooms is spectacular (lake and volcano), but the building is sort of canted away. Rooms were clean, and the location is fine-- a ten minute walk from the center of town. They could benefit from a concierge-- the staff didn't really have much insight into local restaurants and activities, just a stack of brochures and menus.

Room tip: Be specific that you want an unobstructed view of the lake and volcano.

Quaint lake front hotel that has beautiful views of Volcano Osorno from the rooms.
The restaurant is top class and rooms are comfortable and service is impeccable. Everyone in the hotel is very helpful and not being fluent in Spanish we had no difficulty whatsoever. The main area of the city is at a walking distance which makes it convenient to eat out. Highly recommend this place
