I visited this bakery 2 times in 1 weekend, as I was intrigued with its wide variety of products.
Bought cookies on the first day, then some desserts on the next day.
Bengawan sells cakes, pastries, cookies, biscuits and many other sweet desserts called kueh.

So far, I have tried the following: kueh lapis (similar to mille crepes, except that this is more firm), bengawan solo cookies (in tin can), kueh talam, kueh bugis (green glutinous rice with sweetened coconut milk) and their colorful kueh lapis sagu.

I don't have a favorite now, but the lapis sagu is easy to eat, with its sweet taste and multi-colored multi-layered appearance. The kueh lapis is also a good meal ender. It does contain alcohol though so it may not be appropriate for small children.

If you love kueh lapis and other Malaysian kueh cakes like kueh talam , these are Malaysian ninja coconut cakes or Indonesian layer cake , at terminal 1 , there is a shop in the airport after immigration , I think also in terminal 2 as well . Makes great gifts and if your delayed a great fulfilling snack . As a tourist they are a must to try !

Cookies and kueh( cakes) from one of most unique culture in Singapore, Peranakan. A gift of the cookies or cakes never fail to please my friends when I travel overseas. You can get them in airport before you leave Singapore. Just check on its location in each terminal via its website. I brought boxes to Australia for a Friend without any issue getting it in.

Their Pandan cake and lapis are the better ones. The rest can skip.
Service is also very rough and unprofessional.
