At the back row of stores facing the bus terminal, look out for a store at the right end side, offering taiwanese braised pork rice.

Nice portion, several side dishes to order. Authentic taste at reasonable price.

Take a train to Habour Front MRT station or take bus 963 to Seah Im Road. Then walk to the Seah Im Food Centre. The food centre has some good stalls selling Chinese, Malay, and Indian food. So far I have tried the Yong Tau Foo stall and the Hainanese Curry Rice stall. The food is excellent and the price is reasonable. If diners have a complaint against any food stall, they can write to the National Environment Agency which has jurisdiction over all the stalls. No touting is allowed and diners may sit at any table as the tables are owned by the NEA.
The good stalls are the Curry Rice stall and the Yong Tau Foo stall. At one end of the food centre you can see some tailor shops and barber shops. There is also a stall selling newspapers.
As the bus terminal is next to the food centre, many bus drivers come here for their lunch and dinner. The food centre opens from 6 am to 9.30 pm. There is a stall called the Coffee Queen as the stall is managed by two young and beautiful stall holders. Unfortunately the coffee is way behind the beauty of the two ladies.

Wowza. Best damn chicken and rice we've had. So glad we found this spot and had dinner! Don't miss the opportunity to grab some food on the cheap. Just look for the stalls with long lines.

I went here after I went on the southern ridges walk. I had the boneless duck porridge and it was incredible! Very very hot though and because of the hot weather took a while to cool down. It was very delicious though. There's lots of different stalls with different types of food so I think anyone can find something they'll like here.
